89+ mirror is totally different, the mirror from the pre 89 will not fit the 89 housing, and the car will look funny with an 89 mirror on one side and an 87 mirror on the other. I prefer the 89+ mirrors over the pre 89 mirrors any day.

yeah, everything we mentioned was about the housings..

the glass does not interchange to any year, it must be either pre 89, 89+, JDM, or euro, as it's different on each..

Also, Euro glass is the same, whether it's RHD or LHD, however the mirror bases are different, JDMMA70 can confirm this as well...

I learned this, since I have RHD euros on my 92, and LHD euros on my 89...

do you have to do any sort of modification in order to mount 89+ mirrors on a 86.5-88? Or even the euro/jdm mirrors?

I want to get new mirrors for my car because part of my passenger side housing is smashed, I found a pair of pre89 USDMs locally for $30 but I've been thinkin of jdm/euros or even 89+

they're plug and play..

some mirrors come with an "adapater", that plugs into the harness from the mirrors and wiring from the car. It is removable, but if not, then it's okay, as the pins still fit into plug, they're just not secure. If you're the only one that drives your car, then you won't have to worry about adjusting them (I haven't adjusted mine in 3 years) all the time...

JDM is definitely not plug and play, the Euros are though..

JDM mirrors require the wiring, the mirror relay, and the switch, plus they are not heated and are RHD only..

Euros plug and play, are heated, and can be LHD...
