No, the Silk Roads are not for sale. I'll be keeping them for the street. Im going to try them at the track and see how they perform but i have a feeling im going to probably use a set of stock suspension for the track.
I havnt really been updating this thread because the only thing it gets cluttered with is how everyone says what im doing to the car isnt what the "hams" car was suppose to be about. I guess the SM crew doesnt like big power street/strip cars.
Since you asked, i guess i can update with a few pics for those actually interested to see.
We finished up the main portion of the cage (main hoop, halo, and a-pillar bars) and i had a certified welder come in and weld the cage for me. Now that this portion is done and in place, i can finish up the dash bar, forward bars, seat belt bar and rear bars.
First step was to weld a small section on all the joints so that the cage was ridged enough to handle it.
We then removed the floor plates and let the cage fall through holes that we cut in the floor previously. This let him weld the top side of all the joints and allow me to keep the cage as close to the roof as possible.
Then finally, bring the cage back up and installed the floor plates again. Tacked the plates back to the floor and welded the cage in place where it will remain from now on.
I also had some time to start fitting the engine/tranny in the shell. It doesnt sound very hard since a 2jz swap has been done plenty of times, but the tunnell of the car needed to be clearanced as well as the tranny casing in order for it to fit properly. It also makes it easier and faster for me to swap engines/trannies if need be.
You can see the trans adapter in this picture thats used for the Powerglide.
Had a small problem with the turbo/manifold im using. Ill probably end up making a whole new manifold because of how much work it would be to make this one work.
