87 front conversion

alrighty guys... i did a search and i can't really find any info on it but i have an 89 MKIII and i don't like the front end compared the the 87 front end. i want to do a conversion from the 89 to the 87 and i just wanted to know what all is required, if anything, to do the "conversion"? like do i have to get different lights or anything or can i just bolt up the 87 bumper to the car? what all is required?

I went from 87 to 89, but most stuff just mounts up right, fogs are not interchangeable though.

yea, fog lights need to be changed and you won't have functionality of the headlight squirters on the 87 front


BTW, good taste, i like the pre89's as well, they're much more aggressive IMO. that middle piece on the 89+ sucks

yea im with you on the 89 and up middle peice... it's corny and IMO too much for the front... i like simple yet clean and the pre 89 front just flows with the car. im lookin at doin it when i get home from Iraq and i just wanted to know if i would have to modify anything... the fog lights don't really matter cause.... i don't have any... lol... but other than that sweet... im gonna start lookin for parts....

I like pre 89 like i mentioned before HOWEVER, i have one exception...a glossy Black ext. color i think it looks good, it doesn't stand out as much as all the other colors. Im still debating whether i want an 88 or 89 front bumper for a black supra i may be getting. I cant decide :aigo:

where can i get kits like those? i've been lookin for kits for damn ever and i can't find anything but gay lookin kits. just wondering where i can get those... if i can't find anything like that im gonna do that 86.5-88 conversion.

those few websites have a few goodlookin parts... still havn't really located the zeek wide body in a way... on takakaira they have the kit but you can only buy a select few of the peices... and not only that i can't look at the pics on the website to see what they look like. it might just be my computer... but i don't know... if anyone has anymore websites to dish out go ahead and post them so i can check them out.

yeah ugly front ends came into style into the 90's. :biglaugh:

I don't dislike the 89+, I just think it looks a little tacked on when compared to the early nose.
