so it was about thirty degrees out today, and i hadnt driven the supra in two full days. i've been getting off work really late for the past few weeks, and am really tired so i dont trust myself with the supra, i drive the '94 toyota 4x4 to and from work.
it started out like any other day, except i'd pulled an all nighter. i needed to go to the bank in the next town over, about five miles away. i fired up the supra and let it idle up to operating temp. i checked my BOV to make sure it wasnt frozen, after reading MDC's post. off i go. i get on 9G and i'm just cruising at about 60mph, in a 55 zone, like always. i turn left onto RTE 199, and begin to climb a 1/2 mile hill, which peaks, then goes down for about a mile or so.
i wasnt driving agressively, and my car looks like ass. (some rust, paint is totally faded EVERYWHERE, still on sawblades) the only things that give away that the car is modified, are the fact that it's lowered on eibachs and koni's, and the RS*R Concept catback.
so this dude probably thought i was a ricer or something, and tailgates the shit out of me all the way up the hill. i'm in fourth gear, just waiting to revmatch and downshift into third. he creeped over toward the yellow line, and as soon as the lined became broken, he jumped to the rear of my driver's side door.
well, i just smiled to myself, nailed the clutch blipped the throttle, slammed it into third gear, popped the clutch and floored it. from about 45mph to 85mph, i pulled 3 car lengths on him, easy. (this was going from a 45mph zone to a 55)
and to top it off, im running rich with my boost reference AFPR, so he got smoke screened, too, by a rusty 86.5 turboswapped supra. it made me feel so good. i gave him a thumbs up in my rear view, after he pulled in behind me again and tailgated me. he flipped me the bird. ah well, some people...
it was fun for me!
