Hi

Can i us everything from the 5MGE tranny and install that on a 7MGTE engine? Its only to test the engine and the car. I will switch to manual later. And if i have a manual engine ecu, will i need to do something??

Thank you guys :biglaugh:

Sure you can use the 5m trans... its not as durable but shifts smoother, and will hold stock power levels without much of a problem. (guys put 2js against them)

All you need to do is use the w58 (5mge trans), the 5m flywheel, and 5m clutch and PP to get it all to mount up onto a 7mgte.

I'd venture to say it's been covered a time or two, though.

Oh, and the driveshafts are different... so you'll need to get one to fit the w58.

Re-read your post... are you wanting to put an Automatic into a 5sp car? If so, I'm not sure how that works, I've only swapped from Auto to 5speed.

You need an auto wiring harness, an ETC (tranny computer), and an auto ECU. This assumes the 5M & 7M A340E bell housings are the same.

Depending on what's in your car now, might be more trouble than it's worth.
