hello this is my first post. I live san antonio and im a proud owner of a untaken care of 91 supra turbo and im in the middle of a full car rebuild minus the trans and tires. ha


i am rebuilding /upgrading a 91 7mgte using a n/a head with n/a cams. My question is do i set the timing for n/a or turbo? I think i should set it to n/a but i want to make sure.thanks!

You should use the intake camshaft out of a turbo if you want it to perform just like any other 7mgte would, it shifts your torque curve a little to the lower end, if you use the NA intake cam, iirc. That is the only difference in the entire head though. If you are talking about ignition timing, i believe they are both 10 degrees BTDC

im so lazy i didnt even check but yeah they are both 10 btdc. thanks, i like lower end power so maybe i will swap them even though i have the post 89 na cams for top end.

What will kill more puss stangs?
more torque till the turbo spools?
more stickers?
more lift and tires to roll over them?... sorry im new to the import scene.

well any who im glad i can blame this all on alcohol (the stupid post that is):nono:

Don't waste your time using N/A intake cam (exhaust cams are the same) in a GTE. Once you start making any sort of decent power, that intake cam will choke the motor. Waste of time.

And what do you mean by this statement?

No matter which N/A intake cam you use, you'll be choking off the top end. Again, not worth it.

well i heard that the later model n/a cams are better than the earlier models.
