aight, so I threw a rod last night, so I'm in the market for a new motor.

I decided that, as long as I was changing out, I might as well go turbo.

my question is:does the w58 mount up to the 7mgte??

and can it take the extra power(stock everything)

w58 bolts up but it cant handle alot of mods or excessive power, not sure what the "exact" number is but its significantly weaker then the R154.

are you sure the w58 has a cap of 400hp? whats its tq cap before things start getting ugly? I never thought it was that high, i thought it was in the 300's

w58 will last, just depends how long when your making over 400rwhp and constantly beating on it. Some guy in on cs.com is making over 350rwhp and has been running the w58 for 2 years now. runs consistent mid 12's on his mk2 also.

It all depends how you drive it. You can blow a w58 with 150hp if you treat it like shit. I'm putting 300rwtq through mine ATM and it's holding up just fine. But I treat it nice.
