hi. i just picked up a 83 celica supra p type for an un believable price of $100 the body is in great condition exept for the paint. the interior is sgot though but that is ok i do custom upholstery. if any one knows where to get some new plastics for the inside that would be awsome. well anyways the supra has about 250k on it and instead of re building the 5mg i'm going 7mgte. i have about 2k to spend on the motor. i've done some research and i've found that most people leave the engine for the most part stock. exept for the pistons and rods. i want this supra to be in the 4-5 hundred horse range. i also want to keep the w58 i've seen them take up to 450 horse if this is not true please let me know. if you guys can give me any pointers that would be great. thanks. josh

i wouldnt dd one with more than 290, but for a period they can hold 350

they can hold up to 400+, I daily drove mine for 2 years before finally my trans gave out. W-58s are like 1/5 the cost of a r154. So you can break like 5 of them before paying the same price of the r154 ;)

Yeah but you can buy the R154 once and not have to dick with it four more times ;) lol

If you can get a good condition stock 7M, 4-500 should be okay on the stock internals. Just last month a guy broke 700 on them, so they have to be good for something right? :)
