times not an issue just wanting to know the extent of the work for example I know i need valves but do i just have port work done and just put the valves in and im good to go or is there little thing like for another example my dads chevy engine the rockers have bars connecting all the rocker ams together to keep them from moving around. i know that rockers and cams are way diffrent but do a have to do little work like that...thanks for your responce. btw im putting in eagle rods, je pistons, stock crank, all balanced within 1/2 a gram. after valves and port work, how much rpm could i run safely with before i must do little things like i mentioned. again thanksAdjuster said:How much money, or how much time? (Both are numbers I suppose, but what are you asking?)
Some parts you will want to upgrade to run higher rpm.
1) Rods. (I reccomend Pauter.)
2) Pistons. (Ross, JE or Wisco, pick the forged piston that tickles your fancy.)
3) Comp Cams valve springs, or Ferrea ones.
Things that will make it all work even better.
1) Head port work and larger sized valves.
2) Chamfered oil passeges on the crank.
3) Oil system mods to get more flow to the bearings all the time.
With these basics, and the ECU to control it all, 10k is not impossible, but it's not going to be easy.
