I'm looking to replace my head and am wondering if a 7mge head is a viable option on my 7mgte? are they completely the same or will it change my compression and combustion clearance?

??? lolAluminium "anneals" at quite a low temp (goes soft) with a head as long as a 7M it's a problem as it's never even with the exhaust side going soft first, this in turn makes the head banana when it's unbolted.
Before machining it needs to be checked for hardness, straightness and then machined or you end up with misaligned Cam tunnels.
You can roll the dice but these are some of the "issues" involved in buying a head that too many people overlook then post later that the car has trashed the cam journals or hase done the BHG thing yet again.
Pulled studs on the exhaust side is a good indication of a soft head.
