7MGE Valve covers without FFIM

So has anyone else with a left hand drive 7MGTE used the N/A valve covers WITHOUT an FFIM? I'm using the stock TB (not changing it either) and routing the intercooler pipes the same way JayRome did, except the TB is staying in its stock placement.

For those of you that don't know, the throttle cable linkage that rests on the valve covers of the GTE, they hit the PVC tubes on the N/A covers since they're placed further behind.

So other than trimming the bracket, or hacking it a bit to place it a bit further forward, or making an adapter plate that bolts onto the head and moves it completely a bit forward (an inch suffices), anyone else got any ideas?

What about the coils? Also keep in mind if the throttle linkage binds it's going to be an "oh shit" moment at the least and a firey death at the worst...

2JZ-GE coils like Tookwik did. I don't see how it's going to bind if I make it not touch the PCV pipes, which is exactly what I'm trying to figure out. The throttle link sits pretty much on top of one of them without any modifications and I'm trying to figure it out. I've been Googling for an hour now for the N/A throttle linkage, but there are no clear shots anywhere.

n/a throttle linkage is completely different as the tb is right above the exhaust mani vs turbo which is right above the fuel rail. about a foot of difference between the 2.

Does it move the same though? Cuz if so, then I would just have to extend the tube that goes to the link on the TB itself.

your throttle linkage get stuck and you motor blows possibly causing a fire in your engine bay which might cause an entire car fire.

I know that if the linkage gets stuck it'll keep revving, but I don't get how the NA linkage will make that happen. People keep mentioning the linkage getting stuck, but I don't see how that's going to happen when I already stated that I'm trying to find a fix so it doesn't touch the PCV pipes. Even said it in the first post. As for the NA having a shorter metal piece for the TB, I already said I could extend it if that was the only "problem".

No one has told me exactly how it's going to bind. If by "binding" you meant the problem I just mentioned, then it's solved. I'll just extend it to the turbo specs and voila.

EDIT:
I'm just going to PM IJ. I'll post pictures of the fix I come up with after running it through him. I have a really strong feeling that this thread is becoming very confusing very fast.

You can extend it but you'll never get WOT with a straight peice of rod. And NO it won't bind. Why would you want the GE valve covers, I used them until I went through all that nonsense and fucking around and bought GTE valve cover for my na-T. Is this a "they look cool, or underhood "cleanup"" If so I'm done.

Yes, I said so in the first post it was for aesthetics......................... what happened in your case that you never got WOT?

It was quite a while ago, but IIRC the rod would hit part of the bracket. I was tuning back then and my maft-pro was showing only about 75% on the tps. So I bought a GTE linkage and it was smack in the middle of the pcv vents. So I finaly just bought the damn valve covers.

I'm sure you can make it work if you have a fancy linkage rod, or maybe you move the pcv vents.(Which If I cared about what my underhood looked like, would move them to the rear of the valve covers anyways.)

Wouldn't the ideal setup be to use a 7M-GE valve covers with the throttle setup from an MX83 Cressida (which was a 7M-GE that used the 7M-GTE intake manifold without ACIS)?

I can finally sit in peace in front of the pc to do some googling. Here are the first few, and decent, pictures I found. Posting them here for future reference and anyone else that may want/need these.

Jeff's right, it has a 7MGE with the GTE intake manifold. In the last picture, if you have a really good eye and know what you're looking for, you can see the throttle metal tube running behind the 3000 pipe.

soo all u'll need is the metal pvc tube? or the full cress throttle link? cause i am also doing a NA/valve with 2jz coils.

http://www.supracarparts.com/info/?cat=2

this guy used a JDM 7m TB.

The Cressida throttle link. Sourcing a JDM TB is pretty hard. If you're keeping the EGR then I'm sure you'll need the pcv tube as well.

Also, that link doesn't work for me. All it says is "IE4".
