Ok so i searched and found out that the n/a tach will not work on a 7mgte engine due to the fact that there are some differences such as CPS vs. Distributor and coil packs. Now im planning to do a 7mgte swap on my n/a and i was wondering instead of changing the resistance on the tach board itself cant you just swap a GTE tach on the gauge cluster? and while i dont have a turbo engine yet would that work on an N/A?

im in the same boat.... got a N/A and wanna swap the gte in it... this is my approach so far (im still new to yota ive only had hondas so im learning.... bear with me) but in my research this would prob be the easiest way is toget a complete turbo car... i went down to the junkyards and found quite a few.... found an 87 T for 500.... BHG according to the guys who works there.... so now i have 2 options... build the junkyard motor- or buy a new one crate... but gettin a whole donor car u know u have any and every part and bolt (ITS THE LITTLE THINGS) u would need... but about the tach.... why dont u swap the turbo gauges...
