i know i will probably get flamed even for asking but i would rather be safe than sorry. ok, my 7mgte has bad rod bearings, i would like to know if ge internals are the same as gte, common sense would say not but again i would rather be safe than sorry, reason for asking is i found a ge for 450 bux, 30k miles on it, and its the whole motor. so i guess what i'm asking is should i just swap the block if possible, or get new bearings and have the crank checked,,, i appreciate any input, Thanks

Gte blocks have turbo drain drilled into it aswell as turbo feed...ge block does not so you'll need to figure that situation out...ge doesn't have squirters and oil pumps are different but interchangeable....it's not worth the hastle to go from gte to ge-t

well, my intensions weren't neccesarily to use the block itself just the crank and rods. kinda strange how they use same internals, even after Forced induction, what i would like to do was buy the wiseco pistons and eagle rods w/ cleavite bearings, but money is tight right now, unemployement sucks, and i just don't have 1400 to through out right now.

Sorry to thread jack, but I feel it's basically the same kind of question, (if not maybe the mods can move my post to it's own thread...)

I wanted to know how to tell if I have a turbo block or a non-turbo block?
Could you provide pics of these differences for me please?
Thanks in Advance, appologies for thread jacking.

Non Turbo block won't have the drain drilled (blue circle)
