Hello Guys

Just about finished the wiring and come across a few tricky bits....now the previous 7MGTE had a output from ECU for HEADLIGHT RELAY and AC AMPLIFIER.

Now I’m using a 7MGE ECU and engine wiring loom from a MX83 Cressida only thing Cressida ecu outputs to for AC is MAGNETIC clutch which means ill need to tap into blue wire from magnetic clutch relay other then that the ecu doesn’t have wires that tap into AC amp and headlight relay........Is it possible to tap the AC AMP wire made for the 7MGTE ecu into the 7MGE ecu?

Now where is the relay located and if I leave the AC amplifier to ECU and Headlight Relay to ECU what effects will it have

cool well the MX83 ecu is grey plug....7MGTE grey plug what do I do about the AC amplifier and Headlight relay input used to input into 7MGTE ecu? The only input I can see on 7MGE is for aC MAGNETIC clutch.............

We have to be careful here because I don't know what you're looking at. I don't see a mag clutch input on the GE schematic. What pin is it? You can connect the headlight input to "LP"...

ah..im using a cressida ECU and loom ill post a schematic as you will see the 7MGE ecu in a cressida has no LP, OR AC amplifier like the 7MGE and 7MGTE in supras...Cressida has magnetic clutch thouigh

Appears that mag clutch is an input also. I'd have to see the clutch relay to know for sure. Nor do I know if it's for idle up but I'll bet is is. Connect it so the input goes high when the clutch in energized. Can't see anything for headlight idle up but the photo is very fuzzy. Usually on ECUs without dedicated idle ups a general electrical load idle up is used. It's done by monitoring +B, which has to be done anyway to correct for fuel injector lag.

I can do that but what about the wire coming from the amplifier to the ecu can I just leave it "hanging" also by looking at that ELS thing it seems a input from HEAD RH adn defogger go there so maybe I can hook up headlight there....Regarding the pictuire if you hit actual size it comes ok.....

Yeah, ELS is what I was looking for. That's another dedicated idle up for electrical load. Try connecting the headlight (or defog) input there. For AC you can use the one from the amp instead of the clutch. Problem is I recall it as being active low (goes to ground instead of 12 volts) so you might have to invert it. Better to just use the clutch...

hmm yeah better just use the clutch and input the headlight into that..... thoughh can I just leave the amp wire from the ac amp hanging there does it need to be plugged?

well since the 7MGE ECU has input for AC magnetic clutch I shall tap into that. and for the headlight relay I might tap that into the ELS. but the ac amplifier which only the 7MGTE uses ill insulate that wire and leave it out the way...I just thought it might effect my aircon from working......... Would I Be correct in saying I can connect the Orignal 7Mgte headlight wire to the ELS and it would work??? ive supplied a pictuire and as you can see it seems like they are the same in cressida and ma70 7mgte the differance is where they take the output from,..

Cool If I recall the AC amp wire would go through one of the 3 under dash plugs....also you might know this on the thin long grey plug under the dash they is a Voilet/white stripe, Red/black stripe/ and a yellow wire which go to a 3 pin plug near the intake starter area what would they be for??? i know the yellow is connected also to heater VSV.....

Sorry, got me there. If you're talking about a 7M harness the online TEWD identifies all the connectors by shape and color. After you figure the connector out it's a simple matter to use the schematic for wire colors...

I dunno what to say then mate. All that's needed to do anything you want is the TEWD for both cars. Good luck. I did the best I could because if I didn't make some effort with the OZ folks His Holiness over in Melbourne would put the bad mojo on me ;)

how does the ELS wire work can I just hook the defogger stright to it??

at this stage the ELS wire is connected from ECU and goes to no where
