does anyone know what the maximum rpm ever gotten out of the 7m was

It's not the block so much as the head. Gotta get it to flow!

Maximum done was over 10k. However, keep in mind, max does not equal reliable, and from what I recall, the guy who did this didn't care about longevity.
Ive been curious of this myself... what would be a safe limit to spin a lightly modded 7m with a little head work but stock internals/valvetrain?

Bump it to 7k if it has the potential to breathe, but I would do valve springs just as a precaution.
I really wouldn't recommend doing that on an otherwise stock engine though.

+1 on valve springs, shot peened and x-rayed rods at the minimum. Thats a fair amount of stress and they are already one of the weaker points in the motor.
The 7M was never meant to be a high revving engine but if you upgrade the oil system and make sure all the specs are within range, you can do some pretty good stuff.

The main limiter to revs is valvetrain. After that it's the bottom end.

i was just wonderin i know i need to build the head to handle the high revs but i just wanted to if anyone has had any issue with the blocks comming from rx7s and hondas i like my revs to be in the 7 to 10k range for my driving style

i had planned to build a block girdle and do as much to the 7m block to make it reliable as i can at the upper rpm ranges as i can pure sex to here a engine in the upper rev ranges pulling full blast
