7m holds its ground vs. Camaro Z 28

I'll keep it short and sweet because I'm trying to write this at work. Haha.

Last night I had the big showdown within my circle of friends. One of my buddies has a 2002 Z28 Camaro with some work done to it and the thing hauls some serious ass. For a while now he's been making some friendly boasts that I'd get romped on, and I honestly didn't know which way things would go, one way or the other.

I know we're both a good deal faster than a friend of mine's SN-95 Mustang with a brand new PI motor that dyno'd at 273 RWHP, but I've never had any actual dyno time so my output is still a big mystery to me.

We ended up running from a 50 mph roll and I pulled on him every single time by a healthy margin (probably 2 car lengths). We had a caravan of our boys watching from the far left lane and I was told my car sounded like a fighter jet on spool-up. Hehe. After about three untouchable pulls, we dipped off the highway and headed back to our regular commuter lot hangout to bullshit about things.

That's when the excuses came rolling in.

Now, I can get behind someone admitting they weren't on their A-game when racing, but to blame my success on a missed shift is kinda gay. Apparently he was having trouble getting into fourth, but I'm of the mindset that's operator failure. He definitely pushed his car too hard trying to chase me down though because when he got ready to leave and started his car up, it sounded like someone was playing spoons under his hood and his exhaust reaked of coolant.

As bad as I felt for him, I thought it was mildly amusing that the supra wasn't the one limping home with a BHG and rod knock...

Good Kill!!

It's always fun beating up on Domestic cars, they get such a bad temper and blame losing on mis shifts, all because their car new runs low 13's they think that they are all invincible and can't lose to an import!

I guess this thread answers my question of whether or not i should go from a 40 roll with my friends SS. I am pretty sure I dont have a chance on the stock CT @ 13psi.....BTW how much boost were you running on that SP61?

I was running 15 pounds on a conservative tune. In second gear full boost was near instantaneous because you're matting the gas at about 5k rpms. I'm really happy with that turbo and glad I sprung for the extra change to pick up the ball bearing model. As far as BPU WS6's, I've heard upper 12's with Ram air/exhaust/driver modification. :)

I had a buddy go 12.7 at 107 with a 1.9 60 ft with exhaust, they are pretty decent little motors espescially in the later years of the fbody make and their affection for nitrous is wonderful. So congrats on a good kill sir if that was a decently modded 2002 camaro on a good day it should at least run low 12s if not high 11s on motor. As to the poster refering to racing the heads and cam car out of curiousity was it an auto or a six speed? either way great kill to you as well sir but you guys are killing me with this roll racing stuff lol

The LS series is a nasty motor when setup properly. If I were you, I would watch out when that car comes back out,

Heads, cam, intake, full exhaust and tuned LS motors are no joke, especially when those motors love nitrous (as do domestic guys). Congrats on the kill, and I feel bad for your buddy.

Foreverpsychotic: What's up man. It's Ian. Toddy was with us that night, too. You can hear his big mouth in the video right around 4:10. Hehe. :biglaugh: I was chilling with Alexandra down at the pike this last weekend. You should take a trip out this Friday.
