No you don't, but it's highly recommended that you get one to keep the cylinders from being washed down. Try setting the FP around 30-33psi with the vacuum port attached first off. It's going to be hard to tell how well it's running as far as being rich or lean goes without the use of a Wideband or a dyno. So I suggest you do this with either one, or both of these ;)

The vaccum line has to be removed? or you're saying connect it?

Leave it connected, you never need to disconnect it unless you are troublshooting something. Leaving the vac port hooked up will show exactly what fuel pressure you will have while driving off of boost. Just make sure that whatever AFPR you get is a rising rate one, I suggest Aeromotive, they are pretty good, you can buy kits just for our car like from Driftmotion.com for around $300.00 or so...

Without a Lex AFM or the ability to convert to speed density, there's really no point in running 550's. You'll just run very rich...even if you drop pressure with an AFPR.

What does a Rising rate reg do? and if I don't have a Lex why is that bad?

A rising rate AFPR increases fuel pressure 1:1 with boost...it is the type the 7M uses.

The air volume the Lex allows in is ~25% more...the 550 injectors are 25% larger. They balance out...it's an old school mod the stock ECU can handle without additional electronic fuel control. An AFSC does help a lot to fine tune though.

Run the 550's without additional charge air and you be rich...the motor will run like crap. You will not make additional power.

Can I use a FPR on the stock injectors? How much can I run, Is the Fuel Supply lines the one at the beginning of the fuel rail at the front of the engine or is it the one near the fire wall?>

Yes
Take a look at the link in post #5 for the pressures
Fuel supply is at the rear, return (this is where the FRP is) on the front

There is a good chance I am going to be selling my lex-afm. Becuase I decided to go with a programed ecu that is set for 550's so I don't need it. That can also be an option for you.
