Alright I have a 17" fan which is the same size as the stock one. It's a 12V source can I change it and it? Will it create enough cooling? Also what do i hook it up to to start it A/c fans or toggle or sensors that makes it faster I hooked it up to a battery at 10.2 volts and it spun decent, I hope it goes a lot faster, anyhow. I need to know.

This is my Radiator 2 speed ELE fan setup.. Rad is from summit racing was like 136 dollars.. 3 row HUGE circle track radiator.. Fan is from U pull it.. 20 bucks and had a fairly new looking motor.. I have high speed hooked to the old twin fans plug and then low speed on an aftermarket ele fan switch that probe goes in RAD fins... I have NO room 1/4 inch from fan to nut on belt tensioner... but i dont think i will ever have a over heating problem sitting in trafic with ac full blast..

to each his own :} if your factory fan is fine id leave it in place... ele fans need a good shroud to work good...

The clutch fan cools the best and most effeciently out of any aftermarket fan you might consider using on a daily driver. Electric fans work fine on drag cars, but if this isn't your weekend warrior that you're talkin about, stick with the OEM clutch fan.

stock fan+shrowd + new fan clutch=where it's @

look at all the high HP mkiv's and tell me what you see under the hood. the big giant stock shrowd.

the relay shot craps on my buddys sr20 , with an aftermarket fan, and it went full hot. had that been a 7m, that head would've twisted like a pretzel ..

stick with what works.

i've had ZERO problems with my electirc fans... but im also non turbo, so for me its a little different i guess...

i have my fan hooked up to a switch in the inside, so i control it, and ONLY i control it, i dont trust silly relays... and my temps are normally ok, the only times i have problems is when i found out i had a crack in my TB and it spewed all of my coolant/water into my catch can and then shot it in the engine bay... but i doubt that would happen to you. haha.

Yeah, relays can't be trusted. Good thing there aren't any in the car. If they were depended on for EFI power, fuel supply, headlights, starting the engine and a shitload of other important things who knows what might happen...
