7m going 2j! (project)

somewhat new to supras. my friend on azsupracentral got me hooked and I went out and bought a N/A 88 mk3 and a month later I had rod knock

decided to go 2j! Going to be pinching pennies on this one. but I'll be doing a 2jzge with 7m electronics. maybe throw in a map-ecu if I have extra cash.

Heres everything so far.

I wet sanded then paint/primered the engine bay flat black and also power washed my w58 with the new 2j bellhousing that I just picked up yesterday. I even painted some of the hardware to give it a cleaner look.

na-t, my car was already turbo before.

I'm sure that the 2j will be a big improvement over the 7mge.

quick update:

Just got my silicone tape in today!
quick question though. I need to extend the wiring harness and was told to do 18''

is there any other wiring that needs to be extended? I dont have the engine just yet to do a mock up.

another thing too, Should I solder or crimp? I saw a huge debate on one of the forums of which is better.

what is going on here? i already know how to do all the wiring lol. unless you are going to be a cock and do everything yourself. fml everything needs to be soldered noob. dont want any thing coming loose. and who talked you into the whole 2j thing and saved your ass money by not dumping it into the 7m?:naughty:

haha you man. TooGoode is a genius by the way! dude helped out on a 7mgte build and helping on my 2jzge build. and not sure yet. I saw what actually needed to be done, the harness is more simplistic that I was thinking. just takes time

just about to re-wrap my wiring in the engine bay right now. hopefully will clean things up

Been a real slow process waiting for parts. Waiting on the engine mounts right now.

Got the Sc300 gasket sets for my injectors yesterday. so cleaned everything at the same time


Got so bored I'm polishing my 7m upper intake. :naughty:

forgot to add this other side project. My fuse box was all messed up so I decided to completely redo the diagram

ok...this is going to look weird till its done. so bare with me! My dash was completely cracked up, so I decided to do an experimental project while I'm waiting for my engine.

my plans are to do a custom foam piece on top and then fiberglass and paint. so far just did the foam overlay and just started trimming down to size

I did a mach up of the diagrams on photoshop and then printed on a transparency. but I'll be re-doing it, Found a better and cleaner way. It'll be full black instead of the white top and red diagram

can you take pictures along the way cause i going to follow your foot step. i just but a whole 91 running car with 2jz in there. i was thinking about put 2jz in my 89 supra with all my 7m parts..
