Okay, so my engine blew up...dont' know how, etc..but anyways

My parents will buy me another 7MGE, but not a 7MGTE, because they said that it probably won't fit in, blah blah..

I am saying, well...It is the same engine, just turbo...so I don't have to change out anything would I? It is a direct drop right?

But, I need to know if it is a direct drop, just a yes or no answer...

Now...if I were to get another 7MGE, and possible supercharge, would that be better than just getting a 7mgte?

Hmm, or what...I need a new engine ASAP, so I need to buy one on EBAY...

I just sold my truck, so I don't have a vehicle, so I have to walk to work and school (God what a walk..)

But please let me know, 7MGTE is a direct drop in right?

Definitely not a direct drop. There is a complete list of everything you'll need and a few options listed in the NA section.

NA-T FAQ

If you can find yourself a donor car of similar year, then it's doable...

Tranny and driveshaft, elecrtical, fuel and all sorts of little tedious things.

you should be made read only.

you can use the same tranny (and driveshaft) that your 7m GE used.

check out mkiiitech.com for other swap information.

Get another GE and then do a N/A-T conversion later on. That way you can get the car running ASAP as you stated that you needed.

It was my understanding that if you switched to the GTE you would need the R154. Or would you just need to swap clutch parts? Sorry if I gave out wrong info this was just my misunderstanding.

Nope, W58 works with the turbo :)

Wouldn't even need to swap out clutch parts :)

You can use a w58 on a 7mgte no problem, it's just not going to be able to hold as much as the r154. so if you kept the w58 you could use the same driveshaft.

I agree, but at the same time disagree. Had he not posted, he would still be under the wrong impression, so he knows the truth now, but at that same time if others that do know the truth had not seen it then someone else might be under that same wrong understanding. So I guess that its a win/win and a loose/loose situation all at the same time.

what i dont like is that when people like him post bullshit, other uninformed/misinformed members go on to perpetuate the OPs bullshit information.

if he was unsure of something, he should have searched (very likely, i know) or at least asked instead of passing it off as fact.

I would just suggest doing some searching. All the answers are here. You aren't the first person to attempt this so there is plenty of info out there.

no, you use the non turbo clutch and flywheel, because its a non turbo tranny, so you would just bolt it up to the 7mgte engine. but you are prolly better off going the na-t route.. unless you got a bunch of cash and time on your hands :D
