i will be picking up my low mileage shell this week.

-new car.seized 100k N/A.babied.perfect condition car.
-old car.in accident. engine untouched. 220k N/A.babied. perfect condition car.dip stick pops out. lost oil when i first got it but seemed to stop after a little fiddling and/or lucus. no blue smoke or unusual conditions. ran great.

i am contemplating whether to just drop in my older engine now and rebuild later or vise versa.my question is could i build a motor with best parts from both cars? what are good rebuild kits and what should i look into buying?

got about 300 left over after buying car.
willing to spend 500 max.
want the car reliable.
i want N/A for now

any opinions welcome
thanks

anyone have experience with it?:1zhelp:
Did you use a jumper wire to check for codes?

Topline is alright, Felpro is better. The gaskets on the Topline are OK.

Failpro is crap.

I used their new gaskets on several cars and will never use a it again.

American or Import.

Gaskets that should be metal are paper. Metal gaskets are of poor quality and look to be made of stacks of aluminum without coating.

Toyota Gasket kit is the way to go 300 bucks of assurance.

I've bought 3 gasket kits over the years for the GTE and had no issues, but i've had a whole stone/ishino gasket kit in my possession, and it was VERY high quality, i could stack actual toyota seals on top and they would be exact as with the gaskets. :)

And MDS Isn't Available in the US. :(
