If anyone is having trouble tuning these cams I have found with my setup that I +2 & E -2 & 15 degrees timing gives me the best power.
The cams come advanced by 4 degrees at the standard setting of 0 & 0.
N/A auto Cressida with 7MGE.

Are you using adjustable cam gears? Did you degree in the cams?. With my BC 272 I had a "fun time" degreeing them in and getting the timing set at 10 degrees

Yes I have adjustable cam gears.
No I have not degreed them but found that is the best setting using a chassis dyno.

Please send me the specs on these cams (264 & 272) and where to buy them. I didn't realize there were aftermarket cams choices for N/A cars !!

Thanks, Skip

You can also have yours hard welded and reground, what I did, that way they are pretty much a drop in :)

AJ,
Who did that for you?
Hell of a lot better choice than dealing with the problems that people see with the BC stuff.

Web Cams, They have a couple of different grinds. Didn't even have to be degreed. They asked me if I was going to degree them, I suppose they can grind anything you can come up with.

The choice is yours:
220 degrees & 0.336" lift for the BC264
218 degrees & 0.322" lift for the biggest advertised Web 7M cams
209 degrees & 0.321" lift for the smaller Web 7M cams.

My BC cams are running well with the following settings.

Intake set at 0 degrees.

Exhaust retarded by 2 cam degrees.

Intake clearances set at 10 thou

Exhaust clearances set at 12 thou.

Any more overlap than that and my idle quality is crap.

Lack of vacuum at idle is the main problem since the ECU is trying to make it idle at 600rpm in drive with the aircon off.

Idles fine at 800rpm with the air con on. I can even run more overlap if I leave the aircon on permanently.

Overall performance is good with these cams. But if you are considering putting these cams on your NA 7m make sure you upgrade your headers first regardless of if you have a cat back system or not. The increased valve overlap will not work with the short primaries of the stock exhaust manifold.

With any cam upgrade you have to upgrade other things to take advantage of any usuable power from cams. The more you can get it to flow the better the cams will work.
