It's just what Z's were called in Japan.

If that's a really fairlady, it might be worth offering 500-1000 just to have it. Cars can be restored.

It more than likely is. It is RHD. that says something.
and yea, like TJ said, restore it.
and it will be worth some $$$$

I'm interested in how it got there. Not like people just commonly have imported cars in less than good shape laying around their yard with leaves and shit on it.

When you find out, tell us the story. :)

Well I have on my hands a 79 2+2 Nissan Fairlady Z, right hand drive with a L26 I think in it. It needs to be restored was running last time I started it, but gas is getting into the oil. It has a GA title just got to find it. Body is in fair condition with some rust by the battery tray, need to be restored.

I was looking for 1000.00 OBO... Just seeing if there is interest....
Has GA title but don't need one cause of the age. Forgot to get Vin but can get it if requested..

He says he has no idea how it is here but it is :)

check under the carpets, especially in the trunk near the shock towers, and check the frame rails from underneath. check the gas tank as well. i was looking at quite a few of those before i found the supra, and those were the problems that i found.

if you get it screw the l28 in there, get a rb30 block from australia and mate it to a rb20/25/26 head and put a nice size turbo on there. or swap in a l28t from a 280zx turbo.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ That's alot of money to be spending on a car that doesn't seem to be in that great of shop.

Hell, I'd be happy with a paintjob, touch up the interior, an engine rebuild, and just drive the thing. If he already has a supra, he doesn't need two moneypits. :p

the z will be a bigger money pit than the supra by far. BTW the l28t would be cheaper to swap in than a rebuild, i priced a few out.

What about a sr20? o_O

I have the same sentiments about an SR in that car as I do with an RB. Not direct swap = $$$$

I like your idea of swapping L28 too. Wasn't sure how abundant those are or really anything about them so rebuild was the first thing that came to mind.

Man if I had one of that car to daily drive instead of my supra, that would be pretty cool.

more of a pain in the ass than you think. the l28t is more like putting the turbo motor in a non turbo supra and the sr20 has been done before but you need to worry about the mounts, wiring .....ect.....

remember to check it thouroughly for rust in critical areas that were mentioned before. the great thing is that they have enough torque to let the clutch out slowly and roll :)
