I'd drive the fucking piss outta that car...

I bet if the owner threw the keys to any of you and gave it to you, you wouldn't be all, " OMG it's blasphemy I could never drive it."

Hey, at least it's better than the skyline motor in an old mustang...

I actually thought the car was pretty cool. Would I do it? Probably not. Old Camaros need that V8 sound.

Golf clap to the guys who did this.

:biglaugh: So true.

I'd drive it and be proud.

Id throw some slicks on it, take it to the dragstrip immediately and pop the hood and wait for all the big baller gamblers to come throw money at the big "302 foxbody vs. I6 camaro" that would happen probably instantly.

Then i would video tape everyone crying as i left with thier money.

Original '67s had shitty suspension anyways. 68-69s were where its at.

All it takes is some one that has a love for the chevy stlye and the love for the turbo power. Or the other way around some loves the sound of a sbc and the looks of a supra. Yeah it is mix breeding but everything has to been through the eye of the beholder. It is a nice car and a nice motor, but would i ever do that to a 1st... NO. But you have to step back and say that took alot of work and it is a nice car. At least people are thinking that import motors can be good enough for a car like that. Just my 2 cents

I own a 2J, and I am an old school guy who has owned a 10 sec Camaro. I still think its blasphemy and I would throw the keys back.

I think the only way I would put a 2JZ in that car is if the stock motor was blown, and I happened to have a built 2JZ lying around. Otherwise, LS7. Still I gotta admit, it's friggin' clean.

OK....so maybe if i had the money around I wouldn't do this combo... but I don't care it's fucking awesome just the same.

It sounds...different, but its still a beast. at least it doesn't sound raspy or high-strung like some imports can. I sounds good. whatever.

To me this is a nice breath of fresh air.... there are so many roaring and thumping muscle cars...and where I live there are quite a few around...and at car shows they are the majority. Its awesome getting your chest pounded by a v-8 when it starts and revvs, but its so damn common near me that it really can get old... dont get me wrong i LOVE muscle cars....I just don't consider this blasphemy or horrendous. maybe the car would have been crushed otherwise? Its a great out-of-the-box piece of work.

I like it. :D

forgot to say, i REALLY want to see it MOVE. nice lights but is a car show us how it goes!

Yeah right, no junkyard would ever crush a 1st gen Camaro. The rusted out hulks of those things sell for more than a mint running turbo.

I think it's a cool idea. The car is very clean and well built, which deserves respect no matter what you prefer car-wise. I think the tail-lights are pretty cool. It's a weird engine sound from a muscle car though. I'd rock it.

Some people get stuck with crappy, unreliable, short lasting motors (*cough*RX7*cough*), and some people really like a certain body style but don't know anything about the motor, or don't want to spend a small fortune building an import motor when they have a built SBC laying around.
