I have a external 50mm wastegate app. on my ride...(bolts on with 4 bolts). I would like to use a 60mm wastegate with a v-band set-up for ease of installation... Pros & Cons?
It's been a while since my last post... It lives!!! down to the nitty gritty now.
Thanks for any help.

bigger isn't always better. The size should be specific to your app. IJ or some of the other members should be able to give more details on why and how as i'm not 100% sure; though i have a few possible ideas

Thanks for responding. I don't really want the 60mm for it's size, just it's ease of install. I just need to know if it will hurt anything to go the extra 10mm.

Thanks again & so sorry to see that happened to your ride. I will now go over my electrical one more time. :(

what turbo are you running and what are your power goals?

T3 super 70T right now but a fellow MKIII driver just lost his turbo so I mite sell him mine. I could be in the market for a new one (any suggestions?) But lets assume that I keep the same turbo. All I want is a stronger than stock daily driver.(I'm not trying to break any records)15-20psi. I can't afford a real turbo, I'll only have around $300 to spend.

Thanks,
alan

stick with a 50mm if that is your dillemma. i assume you already have a manifold to go with it? as well as the required fuel systems upgrades to safely boost at 15psi

Thanks, that's what I thought. I have a good friend that welds. we can make the dump pipe fit one way or the other. All fuel upgrades are done.my profile pic shows my manifold.

Chances are is that 60mm won't control boost as effectivly as your 50mm at those boost levels with that turbo

Cool, I have a 50mm on the way. I also just got a good deal on a Borg Warner S200 turbo with hopes that it will preform better than this off brand turbo will. It's off a John Deere, and I have heard good and bad things but the worst is that the diesel turbines can't take the heat of a gas engine...
