Whats up with the 6 puck clucthes? What the difference's and the advantages, and how dose it work compared to regular clutch.? I thought the 6 puck were more for racing and it's gonna give a harsh engagement. It seems backwards that you have less contact area on a 6 puck than a regular clutch.
I have a dual friction clutch.

how much power are you making currently? past that find a clutch that works in that range. if you daily drive your car get a full face disc. i have a 6 puck and while it works great and is fine out here in the sticks, last year doing stop and go traffic in dallas it was a bit hard to drive smoothly

I have about 15,000 miles on mine. I drive in 15miles of stop and go every day but when the roar is open I drive like a dumb ass most of the time ...... At almost every stoplight I see how fast i can get to 50mph and then just cruise

6-puck clutch isn't that bad, I actually like it, but then again, I learned to drive manual on my supra and with a 6-puck and no power steering =) It's harsh, but when your racing, you can just feel it grab so hard, I love it

I ran 6 puck sprung hubs on ever supra I owned. It's a little harder to drive smoothly, but it really isn't as bad as people make it sound. I ran mine in trafic and everything.

i know exactly what u mean man. the guy i bought my car did 2 mods, a KnN intake and an atc 6 puck clutch, other than that it is stock. taking off isnt horrible but whenever i back up it chirps sometimes. gets me a lot of funny looks. if i could chose i would take the rps fullface that i had on my other supra. i dont have much power, if i did it might be different.

What brand / model 6-puck clutch are you using? Typically they are great to handle the engine power that majority of the community achieves, but really SUCKS for longevity and durability.

I don't have one, I have center force, dual friction clutch, I was just wondering whats the "lo down" on the 6 puck,.. I like to know how differently do they work from full face, I couldn't understand why a 6 puck would better than a fulll face one when a full face has more surface contact

They grip more than a full face, I don't really know why, because it would *seem* to make sense that a full face would grip more due to more contact area, but I am by no means a clutch expert.

I use an action 6 puck sprung clutch kit from driftmotion. I've put maybe 1000 miles on it and I'm very happy with it. It takes a little time to get used to, at the same time I was getting used to no P/S but now that I'm totally used to it, I can't complain.

It really helps to have crisp throttle response with a 6 puck, so I was reallly anal about getting my throttle response as "crisp" as possible with the stinger. That helped out A LOT.
