my car is a 87 supra 7mgte.

Its mods:

60-1 ct26
hks bov
walbro 255
pte 550s
halman mbc
hard pipes *ic*
FMIC
HKS 3'' exhaust
Maft w/ 3'' GM maf
innovate wideband
hks metal hg
*more little junk that doesnt matter*

anyways, the car is only driven once every week or two *its mainly a track car*

I was getting in it the other day to take my father for a ride and i turned the boost up to 15psi (my car should handle that easily). It done fine while i was driving. I only hit 15psi once the whole time i was gone. The next day, i go to drive the car, and it will only reach 5psi. It is making a HUGE swoosh sound while building boost too. It sounds like it is going to suck my passenger fender in. It is building boost a little slower, it seems. I have tested for boost leaks and cant find any. maybe im not looking hard enough. I thought my wastegate could be worn out. so i put some washers on it, and it did not change anything. still 5psi. and still the crazy loud swoosh sound. the turbo was rebuilt not too long ago, and has never shown a sign of being worn out. have any of you fellas ever ran into this problem before? I have a track meet next week and really need to get this figured out asap. any help is greatly appreciated!

btw, i have searched.

the bottom ic hose is still the stock hose....that could very possibly be my problem. I forgot about that hose. I will check tomarrow night-and replace it even if it doesnt need it. maybe ill get lucky any that be my problem.

Could the lower ic pipe leak be the reason for the LOUD SWOOSH sound?

could a worn out bov do the same thing?

The easiest way is to put together a boost leak tester and hook up a compressor to your system. It will immedately tell you where your leak (of any) is.

Problem fixed!

My good friend was driving a sn95 Mustang GT tonight, and he said my car was pulling strong. It makes me feel good to hear that from a respectable car.

I'm surprised you still built boost, a friends car has a leak similar to yours and once u hit the rpm spot for the turbo to spool, his car... didnt, haha

Good job on finding it tho
