550s & 255 fuel pump & Stock Air Flow Meter?? Can you do this? What about the screw adjustment? (If I can figure out how to do it) Can I adjust it enough to match the 550 injectors??

From what I understand the Lexus afm mod with the 550 match perfectly because it's 25% more air matched to 25% more fuel. Right?

If it's not possible to do this then is the MAF-T a better buy? And where can I get it.

Thanks guys... Still a noob round here...:1zhelp:

Yeah, if you already have the 550 and 255, just get the Lex ~$100-$150. Check the For Sale section.

MAFT would require getting a GM MAF sensor, which are really cheap ~$30-$50, and filter to fit, also.

At this point you should be considering an afpr too.

you will also need a wideband if you are dumping that kinda fuel in the car and a SAFC or AFR to control the fuel.

If you want to stay cheap, 550 and LEx is the way to go. without the AFR/AFC/Wideband you are almost sure you are within the safe range if not slightly righer. if you are planning on running 20PSi boost, I would spend the $ and do it right before causing damage to the engine.

Kinda scared of afr/afc/safc ect.... Wideband is big $$ and that's pretty much advanced tuning and I have nobody here to help me do it right.

I have no idea what fuel pressure I will need or anything like that.

Wideband allows you to tune the car yourself.

If you don't know then fuel is not somthing you want to be messing around with. Once its broke, its gonna cost a lot more to fix it then what these parts cost.

I'd suggest:
Do a lot more reading - Here, SF, Cygnusx1, any of the links in "Sticky: Informative links"
→this is a good one to start with: Write up's on each stage 1-3
Do the easy things that the stock ecu can handle well: Intake Filter, Downpipe, Exhaust.
Then if you want to up the boost some: Manual boost controller or Shim the wastegate
Before you go changing the Fuel delivery and Volume of Air Intake you Must be able to see what it is doing and that is where the Wideband PIONEER mentioned comes in.
Take your time

take it or leave it, not telling you what to do, just suggestions. 2¢

here are some #s for you.

On my stock 7M before, I had the following #z. Now this maybe different based on injector life and engine ability.

SAFC +10 on high throttle.
Lex AFM
Stock injectors
Turbonetics 62-1 @15 PSi

AEM Wideband would read around 14.6-15.3 pre 3000RPM. Above 3K, it would drop to 11.xx then go to 13.xx and then about 5000RPM it would start to come up quick as the injectors will running wideopen.

I dynoed 340~ at the wheels.
---------------------------------
VPC + Stock Injectors (bad idea)Stock Internals, AFC +10 High throttle
Turbonetics 62-1 @ 20 PSI

Dropped to 11.xx then Came quick to 14.xx and PAwwwwwwww. Blown engine.

Dynoed 458 at the wheels :icon_bigg

I have read a lot but some of the more advanced stuff I glossed over because I didn't think I would get that far this quick... I suppose that now's the time.

Right now I have a full 3 inch no cat exhaust and downpipe, underdrive pulley, K&N Cone filter, Completely rebuilt engine, considering taking off EGR, Duel Electric fans, all synthetic fluids, 11psi with a shimmed wastegate, 550 injectors, 255 walbro, ect.

I really wonder how much pwr I am making right now. Not even sure how to guess. Dyno or track time is hard to come by right now in New Orleans. Dyno time cost how much $$??

What could I expect to get with my setup when I put the lexus afm in? I'm still on stock ct-26 so i'll probably only boost up to 14psi. Right now I get nearly ZERO lag. The boost starts coming very quick!

Lex AFM will raise your fuelcut thus allow you to run higher boost. 11PSi Vs 14 PSI is not much of a gain. maybe 20-30hp.

Sorry, I looked at your sig and profile but didn't see any mods listed, so I didn't know how far along you were.
Now would be a good time for the wideband. You could monitor your tuning yourself and not need the dyno. Zeitronix is a great one.

I wish you all the best in your recovery in New Orleans.

Yes, Zeitronix is a good choice for the $. I run a AEM unit which doesnot do a RPM conversion, no software with it. few options out in the market now. do a search.

Thanks! We are getting by down here on the bayou... My family was very fortunate...

If I go with a lexus afm can I always upgrade later to the MAF-T? Or you guys think I should just save up and go with the MAF-T and Wideband O2 to start with.

maft + wideband = ~ $549 - $679 ±
+side of this, it give you some tuning ability. and yes you could always do this later.

lex + wideband = ~ $379 - $549 ±
+side of this, mostly plug and play
