hmmm.... 527whp & 390lb/trq thats a really big defference between hp and tq...

Well the torque curve goes flat right after the 5252rpm line, so i dont think the dyno was reading the torque just right.

I don't think most people really have a good grasp on how torque is measured. The torque and hp line on the dyno graph will always cross at 5250rpm. Since the engine made most of it's power at 5000-7800 rpm, the torque can not be as high as the horsepower. Torque is basically power that is produced in the lower rpm range. The big cams in a stock head help the top end but sacrifice low end torque. The thing people don't talk about is that with the higher redline the 1jz has, the useable powerband can be even wider then a 7m with a 6200rpm redline. The 1jz makes it's power about 500rpm higher, but has a 800-1000rpm higher stock redline. All you need to make a 1jz car fast is a 4.10 or 4.30 diff and put someone behind the wheel who knows how to drive and when to shift. We dyno'd a 1jz that made 324whp and 317tq, does that make you guys happy? It looks like Mark had the redline at 7800, I would love to see a 7m with 400whp/500tq and 6500rpm redline in a race against Mark's 1jz on the freeway......It wouldn't even be a challenge for Mark.

first of all, congrats!

I'm curiouse about the torque as well. Our dyno was 422rwhp, 400 torque @ 17 psi on a stock 1jz, w/ hks cams. I would have to guess that it is the cams.
