I just hope this doesn't inspire a bunch of the younguns to try and do the same with their 200.000 mile old 7M's .......

Wait a couple of weeks... bunch of threads about trying to reach 500whp with their 200k+ mile motor and it blew up.. "what went wrong?"

Yes, yes. Do not try running 25psi on a "un-fresh" engine. My engine was rebuilt with new rings and bearings 35k miles ago.

Also, I was running a 60/40 mix of C16 and 93 octane. Don't even try boosting 20psi on pump gas (if you like your engine).

I'm wondering, MRSUPRA, why didnt you push the limits of the SP61GT, any chance you'll go back and give it a shot? I'm running a SP61GT and i'm waiting to up the boost until i can decide between tuning for race gas or some sort of methanol injection (only with a fail-safe system). Btw how much boost is too much for pump gas on the SP61GT? 20 psi?

The only reason I did not push the SP61GT harder on the dyno is because the wastegate rod was positioned wrong and I could only boost 20-21 psi on the dyno. I did get it fixed and ran 24psi at the track: on a bogged launch I ran 12.4 at 119mph with my temp going passed H thanks to the head lifting off the gasket.

I will post the dyno if the guy ever sends me the E-mail link.
