He is going to be kinda short with all the workin out hes doing. And I agree with the borderline child abuse, lol.

You never know, he just may be one of those kids that enjoy doing stuff like that....

As long as he's not forced, and no drugs I'm okay with that.

He could definately kick my ass. If him and I were in prison together, I'd be washing his clothes.......not to mention, anything else he made me do.

I'd be wearing a cup at all times, with his height advantage!

Disgusting.

I'm not sure where we draw the line Kristel? Or if it even matters for more than any of our thoughts last. Kid does seem to enjoy it though.

I immediatly thought of Tiger at his young age. I'm sure many parents push their kids a little too much. Who's to say. I'm not sure when Bruce Lee started training. Jet Li started really early.

We have Cirque du Soleil at a lot of our properties and there are lots of youngsters. We have 2 girls that get in a box about 24"x24". You see it and would bet they couldn't do it.

If the child enjoys it, that is one thing, however I am of the thought that kids should be kids.

Hardcore training at such a young age takes away from exploratory and imaginative play time, which form part of the foundation for social skills and education.

As far as I know, Cirque du Soleil tries as hard as possible to ensure the child performers lead a normal life in regards to play time and study.

Definitely impressive, and its borderline child abuse if his rents are makin him do it. If he does it on his own I dont think it is. However I dont think its healthy for him. I remember my doctor telling me i shouldnt start lifting until I was at least 14 preferably 15. Dont remember his reasoning though.

It's because when you start lifting/working out, your growth platelets close up. Why do you think that Hercules kid is so short?

not near as bad as that lil tarzan kid from a few years back(http://www.richardsandrak.com/), dont think it is the best idea in the world. but if the parents aren't forcing it, it isnt abuse. most of those excersizes are normal gymnastic and flex training, not at all bad even at his age. as long as the weights dont get out of hand.

Actually, my sister has been doing gymnastics most of her life. She's something like 5'4", but her doctor told her a few years back that if she hadn't been doing gymnastics, she'd probaby be a good 4-5" taller or so.
