I figured it out! Go to the cruise control box and cut the black/white striped wire. Wire each half to a terminal on the switch at the top of the clutch pedal. Voila, you now have cruise control that cuts out when you press the clutch pedal.

I hope i don't have to, as i don't have the plug. ;)

No need for the pic anytime soon, I really just wanted to get cruise working. ABS is the next step, but not for a little bit.

That's how the 5 speed comes wired from the factory. The auto is supposed to be wired through the NSW. Either way it's the same cancel input.

Right, but I wasn't sure what the reason was that cruise wouldn't engage. I took a shot in the dark and it worked. I was especially nervous since my plugs were completely different than was was listed on the TEWD on CygnusX1's site. I had a couple more wires and the plug itself had 18 pins, which all were filled. Thankfully it appears that most of the wire colors were the same.

Basically (for those of you who can't read wiring diagrams) you generally wire the car up to fool it into thinking it's in park or neutral (can't remember which) so the starter will engage when you turn the key, but then you've got a cruise control computer thinking the same thing. You want to cut that wire and put the clutch switch in the middle so you have working cruise that disengages when you press the clutch. Otherwise, the car will continue to rev up because it doesn't realize you've pushed the clutch pedal in.

I'm listing this information so future users can hopefully do the swap and get everything working.

A quick look seems to show that unless the wiring had been modified at some point that input shouldn't have been connected so as to prevent the CC from working in the first place since it still should have been wired through the NSW. Maybe you jumped the NSW connector during the swap? I dunno. I guess it's a moot point now...

Yes, when you went 5 speed did you jump the connector to get the engine to start? If so that would do it.

Yup, black wire to white wire.

I hope this helps at least one person out. Life without cruise sucks! At least, for those of us who actually drive their cars :)

Well, there you go. Shot yourself in the foot ;)

Btw I hoped you wired up the clutch safety switch too because you will crank that baby in gear someday. I guarantee it...

Did it today, actually.

Cranked it in gear, that is. Glad I always remember to set the parking brake! I'll get it wired in properly when I get back from vacation.

Wise move. Think parking space with other cars nearby. Think garage. Think garage with buddy in front of car while you're both working on it. I never stand in front or back a car when it's being started, something I see a whole lot of people do. They be crazy...

Absolutely. It's an idiot switch, but we all act like idiots sometime.

Bah! Why wasn't that thread in the FAQ section? I knew I wasn't the first to do this, I just wanted the information to be more easily accessible.

I couldn't find anyone with working cruise when I was asking the same questions a year ago. It's been working now for almost a year. I find it funny when you push the clutch in and the car thinks its in Park and there's a bit of idle adjustment.

I agree that this information should be in the FAQ's.
