People need to remember the hans device hasnt been around That long. Plenty of people used the harness with no hans for a long time. Its not like your going to be hitting a wall going 200mph in your daily driver. Also the hans is a major factor when your wearing a heavy helmet on your head.
The crash that brings this up the most is Dale dieing. Ya he had a heavy helmet and hit a wall head on at well over 150mph. If he had a hans he might have lived.
I cant see how a harness would be unsafe on the streets. My supra has no airbag, with a regular belt my face is going right into the steering wheel. If I had a harness it might save me from that. Also if you put in a 5point for track use why not just buckle the lap part for street use. Im not sure how the harness works but if you can buckle the lap belt and 1 shoulder it would be the same as stock...
Of course, Im no seat belt expert and Im running stock belts.
