400 HP 1J Question

I'm looking at getting a kit from 935 that will put me around 400 WHP. Question is, should I upgrade certain parts? The FMIC setup I'll be getting is 24x12x3 and has 2.5" piping. Will this be enough or should I go 3" piping? Also, Will 440cc JDM (cleaned and flow tested) injectors be enough to handle this, or should I upgrade them to 520cc injectors? I have a full 3" catless exhaust, cold air intake, SAFC Neo, and the Aeromotive FPR. :1zhelp:

if your shooting for 400, stay with 2.5" piping, the 440cc's should flow enough and the rest of what youve got should be fine for 400hp

you shouldnt need a recirculated BOV on it, mainly just go with whichever you like the most, personally im running a tial

YOu be ok with the 440cc, I run MKIV 550cc & i made 422hp at 20psi on stock twins, I know i had fuel left but the stock twins were pass their limit.

Whatever you do, just don't buy crap parts. Stick with name brands. Nothing says ghetto roller like those ebay/chinese front mounts you can spot from a mile away. A good pipe setup is 2.5 hot side, 3" cold. JDM 440's are more then enough for 400whp.

My question is, what turbo is it going to be? Sounds tiny. Even the standard run of the mill 60-1 will do beyond 400whp on pump gas.

Try and weld as much of the piping as possible, 4 rubber connections should be the most. 2.5" piping will be fine andthe 440s will be fine.

i don't know about the 440's being fine. I'm on 15 psi tuned at about 11.5 going up to 12.0 on a 60-1 with 440's. they are damn close to maxing out and im probably only around 360whp.

i thought it might be my fuel pump but it doesn't continue to climb after 12.0

yeah 440's at 18 psi on stock twins were at a decent duty cycle already IIRC. Nothing crazy, but a single is gonna definitely move way more air..

i used to run 18psi on a T61 with 440s, ran 11.2-11.7 A/F the entire time, that was with a Neo and a Mine's ECU

Reaper, that was at stock fuel pressure. The OP already stated that he has an AFPR, more pressure, more fuel.

Oh, duh. I've decided that I need to be a good boy and hold off on the single turbo setup. I just spent a fortune on the Supra, I need to pay off some debt before I do anything more. Maybe I'll get just a FMIC. Thanks for the advice ya'll.

yea, no kidding, save some money now, and itll pay off in the long run, cause your not getting that pay check like some of us are anymore..

i'll be fine on the 550's once i get them in.

me myself would rather have a little more injector than i need rather than just the right amount. be a little safer.

i'll probably be getting a walbro soon although my pump is pretty loud for being a stock one. sounds alot like a walbro at constant 12v.

I'd just pick up some 550's. always nice to have a bit of room to expand dude.. but sounds like youre holding off a bit anyhow.
