Has anyone else contemplated this swap? I've been doing some research and I can't seem to find anything on someone trying to put one in a Supra. I'm not even sure what you would use for a transmission. Maybe an R154 with a custom bell housing?

If anyone does not know what the 3UR is, it's the 5.7 liter out of the latest generation Tundra's and Sequoia's.

I believe it would be pretty interesting to see one of these with a TRD supercharger in a Supra. What are SM's opinions on this?

3UR-FE's on Ebay:

Great idea in theory. The cubic inches would really wake up the car in normal driving. The problem is the external dimensions are probably pretty large. The 1UZ is much more compact (and smaller cubes). The LS1 is also compact and powerful.

Cool idea, but Nick hit on the head- that engine is enormous. Its hard to get into a Tundra's engine bay, much less a Supra's. If you're made of money and time I'd say give it a go, but that's a big freaking engine D:

I forget, are they iron block engines? If so, I'd pass. If they were aluminum and you had a big enough shoehorn, it would be a lot like driving a Camaro SS drivetrain in a proper chassis. :)

Stronger? I wouldn't say that since the 3UR + TRD supercharger is 500HP and 550ft/lbs. You'd have to push a 1UZ quite a lot to get those numbers, and it wouldn't be as reliable.

I can speak form my experience with the 1UZ, it fits, but barely in some places of the MA70 engine bay. The larger Toyota V8s will not fit, they are just to wide. There was a local guy who swore up and down that they would fit, I said good luck and I sure as hell want to see it when your done! He has never got it done… hahaha

There is a picture of the original 1UZ connecting rod and each later V8 through the year 2001. They only got smaller.
