IJ I'd like to see your setup.
For everyone and anyone else out there. I'm thinking about doing a retro and need to discuss this out to get it done right. For better lighting, I know and agree with getting some Hella e-codes, cibies, or possibly hella DOT approved housings with some good quality bulbs (philips/osram). To top off, wiring upgrade.
I wanted to go one step further and go HID.
I'm getting into something I'm unsure of and I need to take a take back and get it right. I did some reading the past week or so on daniel stern's website, SM, and other places. I ended buying some Audi headlights for $60 (I think A8 - that's what it said in the ad, haven't checked it out) a while back. I bought it for the projectors, but it has some electronics on it and I think it has some D2S bulbs in there.
I don't want to use the Hella/Cibie housings because I want to do something NSX-style with quad projectors. The problem is I dont know how I'd do this and keep the projectors protected from the weather.
I either want to have four bi-xenon projectors so all four are on at a time with all four working as high beams as well. Two bi-xenons and two xenons so all four are on and only two for high beams. Or the two outer ones set up low and the two inner for high.
Basically I've made the choice between hella/cibie housings and retro. I decided to go retro. I just need some tips for doing it and if there are any projectors I should favour. I saw mostly on this forums people favouring the TSX projectors, but elsewhere I read that BMW/AUDI are the best.
I already have two of them that I got cheap, I'm wondering if I should
a) Use the ones I have and find a matching pair
b) Find two matching pairs from a different vehicle that has advantages over the set I have
c) mix and match.
Anyways, I pulled an all-nighter and now I got some stuff to do, I have a long day ahead. I'm looking forward to some feedback when I get to check in.
