I've hung around Nissans for a long time and still am to a point. A almost stock MKIII is no match for a 6spd 350z. maybe a Auto yaa. My 6spd maxima with just a cattman Y-Pipe ran 13.8 in a 1/4 mile all day long.

Edit.. I think you beat the driver not the car.

if anyone is still reading this thread.... i dynoed my car when i first got it. Totally stock and it got 201 rwhp....bone stock... then i added an hks intake and dynoed it the same day as the stock dyno, and got 232 rwhp...no tuning or anything. I then added a safcii and a manual boost controller and tuned it and i'm now getting 251rwhp. I'm boosting 11 pounds. I added the hks down pipe and had it dynoed again and it didnt even add one more horsepower. It had the same power and torque as the runs with stock downpipe, well actually it wasnt stock. It was something someone had welded together and replaced the stock downpipe with. It looked like sh t and had nine hundred bends in it. So the point is a stock supra gets more than 170 rwhp. For the record i believe you t344. sorry you felt like you had to defend yourself. Luckily in this great country we live in everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Good luck with your car.

So you are saying you added a HKS Magablow intake and gained 31HP? If that is indeed a fact, I would like to see a Dyno of that.

one more thing you guys forget the LagLess power of a N/A. While your turbo is spooling, the 350z is N/A and Shorter Gears b/c of 6spd. so with a "good" driver, the MKIII can get a hurting pretty quick.

i had it done at AutoLabz in birmingham al. they have all my dynos on computer their. They said that they've never seen that much hp gain from just a intake upgrade, but they did get it from mine. When they did my first dyno pulls their printer wasnt hooked up, they said they could print them for me later if i wanted too. I havent had any reason to do it since, and just because you are doubting me is not reason enough. I have nothing to gain by lieing and nothing to gain by proving it either. Sorry you dont believe me. I told you exactly what they told me.

i MIGHT believe 30hp at the crank, but taking into consideration about a 15% drivetrain loss, (through a 5 speed, more through an automatic) that means that the HKS filter alone added roughly 60hp at the crank. (you said you dyno'd at 232rwhp afterward) that's completely insane, and unless boost miraculously increased somehow, it's just not possible.

Not doubting you as far as what it did. The dyno graph would show information like Air/Fuel changes and I was wondering what an intake did to make the CT spin faster

this right here no longer makes it stock, you had a somewhat more efficient downpipe, thats why you got hte higher numbers as a baseline. and probabbly why the intake had a bigger effect.

i did 190 TOTALLY stock to the wheels under ideal conditions in perfect running order. im auto so im sure a 5sp could pull a few more.

this kill is entirely possible, how many people really drive their NEW sports cars to their fullest potential? how many people are even CAPABLE of diriving their cars to their fullest potential?, unless its a rental.

the power increase is also possible, pretty damn huge though.

Well I for one know I can pick on them like crazy, out here there is a part thats just all rich stuck up people and I routinely get those guys thinking they are the shit in their 350's to try...its a close race but 2nd gear puts a car on them and by then its wise to let off. Those are definately my favorite cars to pick on for the fact the owners always tend to be dickheads.

350's aren't that fast... most of the people that get them are lucky to run a low 14 in their car... so it's not all that difficult to believe that a supra beat one... I pulled one in my shitty runnin 87 completely bone stock...

Like I said. You are beating the driver, not the car.

Right before I sold my maxima I Raced Sorcereur in his 89 Turbo at 12PSI, full 3" exhaust from turbo back, and my Maxima had a cattman Y-pipe. we went from a light to about 120 and the supra stayed about 2 cars behind me all the way. did a few runs on the Hwy and there was no change.

I have owned both cars so I know what they can do.

What year was yours, I'm guessing an 02 or 03? My mom has an 02 auto and I've been driving it while I wait on my engine to arrive. It's a fun car, I like it a lot. Pretty quick too. :icon_razz

I had a 00 5spd, with was modded pretty good. then I got a 02 6spd and sold the 5spd. I can't trust the supra to be the only source of transportation. Then I build that 7MGTE Cressida which was way faster then the 6spd maxima but it was too small. Sold the maxima, sold the Cressida, got a Q45.

V8 Japanese Muscle is still quicker then a Stock Supra :naughty:

i've got to go back to autolabz so that they can do away with my hks fcd, because i'm still getting fuelcut. I will see if he can print those dynos from the first time, and then with the hks intake. I will then post them here so you can see. Dont really know when i can get over there, but hopefully this week.

thanks pioneer for the suggestion, but i think i want it back the way i had it. I had it running perfect with my safcii and 11 pounds of boost. i had the air and fuel dialed in perfect. i bought the fcd so i could raise the boost up a little more, but it keeps hitting fuel cut. they tried to adjust the knob on the fcd, but nothing seemed to work, and my air and fuel lines arent near as good as they were. i'm just goint to save up for something i read on here. someone said to get a maft. does anyone know anything about this? hope everyone has a fun, and SAFE holiday this new years.

How much fuel are you adding on the SAFC? might be adding too much fuel for the boost. Here's a simple test.

Say you hit fuelcut at 11PSi.

and you are adding 15% fuel.

Drop the fuel to 8% and see if the fuelcut goes up. If it does, you need bigger injectors b/c the ECU is picking up the faking done by the SAFC.
