True.. he did make over 400 on 440cc (even though this is a 7M discussion). I don't doubt that at all, but pushing duty cycle and fine tuning the global setting is an itch. On a 7m you can well pull 350whp on 440's... buts that's already pushing over 80% duty cycle... so the injector might not fully function properly when you need it most (higher RPMS). More fuel is better then not having enough. That MBC will always find a way up... 10psi...15psi..20psi... PPFTTT. OOPs... detonation.

That's why instead of refurbishing my 440's, I'm deciding to go with some 550 RC on my OE rebuild just as insurance. Fine tune with a Wideband,SAFC, AFPR. I know I'll be running filthy rich..:naughty:

440's are stockers on 7m's. This is an apples to oranges comparison. Using specifics from one motor that made XXX power, doesnt mean it will work for another.

440ccs are upgrades on the 1j, kind of like 550cc's are upgrades on the 7m ;)

No one is "not getting along"....

When soneone jumps into a Tech thread with "I Made xxxrwhp and it's safe to do" with obviously bogus data that has the potential to KILL your engine stone dead I'm going to question it.

I can make a Dyno read whatever I want, 440cc Injectors and 470rwhp just doesn't happen in any safe way, as I mentioned unless he's running some mental base pressure with a killer fuel system to provide enough flow at those pressures (EFI pumps lay down in volume as you get into high pressures) I call BS.

350 is doable if EVERYTHING is in good condition, one lean out under boost will ruin your day.

Torque multiplication affects how the dyno ramps and what figure it spits out at the end of the run.

4th in most manuals and 3rd in our auto's is 1:1 and means the above doesn't affect the final number.

It's just another variable, I changed to a lighter crank and picked up quite a bit of FP and Tq with no other changes, this was due to how the dyno reads as it allowed a faster ramp time to the point it measures the power so end result is a bigger number.

My engine didn't actually make more power, there are so many little variables that have an effect that's why I said his results were bogus.
