Here are a few pics of my 1987 Toyota Supra Swap. Put in a 350 Chevy with a 700R4 Transmission in it. Here's the specs on it. Should get me @ the mid 12's at 110mph. Add a little spray later and shoot for high 11's. A 125 hp shot should get me there. Biggest limitation so far is traction. Even with running a 3.73 LSD it does nothing but want to spin the tires. Going to replace the windshield with a Safelite replacement for $220. Paint it flat black. Body's solid, no rust. It's crazy fast! I'll try and link a video once I get done uploading.

A bigger engine and fuel injection would have been nice. But I wanted to keep things simple. Easy to fix and fast to replace. Some pretty tight clearances, but it's all in there good now. Here's my most recent video of it. It's in the garage now getting sanded down for some paint. Going with a flat black for now. Once I get the few body dents smoothed out, it'll be gloss black.

No mufflers. Sidepipes out the side on both sides. It is nice being able to get parts anywhere for the motor. The engine bay is very accessible too. In hindsight, wish I'd of dropped a 6.0 LS engine in. Not that I don't like or respect the Toyota engines. The MKIII looks better than the RX-7 and I didn't want a domestic body. Next project, if I can find one for under $1k, a late 80's Jaguar XJ6 Convertible.

To get to the 10's you'll need some sticky tires and probably a solid axle. Traction is a big issue I'm having now. Takes some throttle feathering to get the right amount of spin and forward motion. Had 4.30 single track gears in and swapped to 3.73 LSD. Haven't had it to the track yet. Need to fix my windshield.....still.

Under a damn Toyota
still nice to see another going the american way with HP. I just couldnt see spending big money on a 7M to make more power. As for traction problems I have a set of M/T ET radial that should help.

Spent the last couple days painting the Supra Flat Black. Won't be the final color. But at least now it's just 1. Here are a few before and after pics. : D

Not going to lie I hate flat black as a color but damn does it look good on a mk iii supra! Great work!

I'll stick around to hear about the times it runs :). I have an rx7 with a sbc in it as a side project.

Hey Guys,

I'm so glad I found the forum for Chevy swaps!

Good job!!! I think I saw this on YouTube. Very impressive.

I've put 3 V-8's into an MKIII. (Chevy V8 Conversion Swap 1988 Toyota Supra - with Toyota 5 Speed)

I have the info for a full conversion kit.
