Spent the day in the garage putting together all the small things for my V8 Supra Project. Almost ready to fire it back up. Going to put in some 3.72 gears from a '89 + LSD diff. The open 4.30's won't do, to low. Engine is a flat top 350 Chevy with a roller .510 Lift Camshaft, Vortec Heads with LT4 Springs and Roller Rockers, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and a 750 Edelbrock Carb. Tranny is a 700R4 with a shift kit, 3-4 downshift eliminator, 2500 RPM Stall, Tranny cooler with fan. Cooling is through a corvette short style water pump with an all aluminum Radiator and a huge electric fan. Need to wire up and bolt down an auxilary tachometer, swap diffs, fab up an alternator adjustment bracket, bolt up the tranny, tighten the trans cooler lines, install the starter, hook up the shift selector bracket on the tranny and adjust, bolt on the driveshaft and fuel lines.

I'm guessing around 400 HP / 400 lbs torque. Plan to later add a 125hp shot of N20. As it sits (no NOS), it'll run mid / low 12's (if it'll hook). Had this engine tranny combo in a Vette and it ran high 12's with a 2.73 axle ratio.

Here's a few more pics of my project. Just got it done today. Need to go back over it, wet sand and use the filler where need be. But at least it's up and running good! This thing is fast as hell! Got on it a few times while driving. Put it in 1st gear (@20mph at 3,000rpm) and hammered the throttle. Spun the tires immediately and I shifted to 2nd, working the throttle to control the tire spin. Traction is limited under 30 mph. Wicked fast. Sure I'll be running mid 12's.

Im in the process of planning and purchasing parts to do a 350 conversion in my 91 supra and im curious, how did you go about routing the exhaust?
I plan to use a 350 with a 4 bolt main and bore it 40 over any input on how i should go about my build? Honestly I want to do this due to the fact it doesnt get done very often (and you get more performance for your dollar out of a small block chevy) but I have never really delt with 350's before so its a whole new ball game for me.

why a 350?

No replacement for displacement!

I just took a ride in a 1996 LT1 Trans Am, and all I can say is WOW! For a car with just a exhaust and headers, that thing got up and went something fierce. It was spinning two 10.5" wide tires like it was nothing and had that umph when you went WOT that throws you back in the seat instantly. A 350 would be the best bang for your buck in my opinion, although I prefer fuel injection.

Also if the OP decides to log in again, have you got any body work done on this beast yet? It deserves it...

Just has to be offered in the country, have all emissions components, be of that year or newer, and it will pass.

I wouldnt have gone back in time to the stone age with the carb but cool build.
