The car looked like a skyline from the tailights but it could be a conversion. They raced from a roll and the skyline put like 5 cars on the 3000gt. I didn't hear any bov but the exhaust sounded bad. I took my camaro to work since the supra is in the shop so my friends told me to race him but I didn't want to get a ticket since the last time a got pulled over cuz of my loud exhaust.
It could be just a fake skyline.

3000gt vr-4's are not fast, they are heavy ass hell, all eat transmitions, and are just fat turds. alls it is is an atempt to make a bigger more powerful DSM. but the dsm by far has much more potential and but also have tranny problems. an even bigger flop was the vr-4 spyder

umm.. they didnt have 3000gt's in japan, that was all a US domestic thing, hence DIAMOND STAR MOTORSPORTS/"DSM", mitsubishi/dodge, eclipses and 3000gt's were US things, mitsubishi motors and drive train on mopar bodys. the japanese only did EVO's which had the same 4G63 motor as our eclipse/talon/lasers then after the EVO 6 or 7 they switched the 4G63 motor to what we have today in our EVO 8's and for those who dont know the motor differance, the evo motor is flipped backwards compared to the DSM/early EVO motor. Our US EVO's are also out of date in japan they have EVO 9's and already starting on the 10. As for the 3000gt/Stealth they had another Mitsubishi over there that featured the 3000gt 6G72DETT motor but it was def. not a what we had here, i can not think of the name of the car off the top of my head. I think the only car we didnt get screwed on from japan is the US domestic MK4 Supra which had alot more power then the JDM one by about 40 or so HP. Japan always keeps the better car, and i only know that much about DSM's because I build them :icon_bigg

Actually the Mitsu GTO was offered in Japan, Euorpean countries, and maybe Australia. It was basically the same car as in the states. The joint effort was the Stealth, the 3000GT/Vr-4 was all Mitsu. The Stealth used a Mitsu engine and was assembled in their factories. I wanted one and researched them for months, that's why I know so much about them.

In 1990 Mitsubishi developed a sport coupe to compete in the $40,000 class with the likes of the Toyota Supra, Mazda RX-7, Nissan 300ZX, Corvette, and low end Porsches. The car that dawned was the Mitsubishi GTO, and it reigned as Mitsubishi’s flagship sports car from 1991-1999. The GTO was named the Mitsubishi 3000GT in the United States and Europe in order to avoid confusion and anger amongst fans of the Ferrari GTO sports car series and Pontiac GTO muscle car. Built in Nagoya Japan, the GTO was also sold in the US with its own body shape as the Dodge Stealth from 1991 to 1996.

they still made there torque at a lil over 3000rpm so metal or no, its still fast. It was only a few ticks(.x sec.) of the TT Supra time to 60 and in 1/4 mile. Even tho the 0-60 time is solwer you gotta look at ground covered, its got a low trap speed.

the 3000GT as we know it is a fairly fast car... AKA the Switchknife Sportscar (because of all of the amenities of the car's functions) was known as the GTO in JDM form. The fastest ones of Japan were the MR editions (Mitsubishi Racing). Best Motoring did tests on the MR edition and they were able to hit high 12's with it from 0-400 meters (fast enough to beat a Skyline GTR vspec by .01 seconds). This video can be seen on RacingFlix.com

By the way. The 94+ VR4 3000GT's had 6speed Getrag tranny's. It is the 90-93 models that had the tranny gremlins....
