1)
What is the proper setting to use in the maftpro for a q45 throttle body? We know the stock setting is '7', however we dont know how much higher to go with my q45.

2)
Why it is that after we first start the car, the Vf signal is accurate at ~3.0v but as soon as I blip the throttle it goes into a permanent signal of 4.4v and holds it despite the adjustments we do.

3)
Are there any known compatibility issues with connecting to the maft pro from a Vista laptop? Luis could connect fine on his XP machine, however, I could not get my Vista laptop to connect.

you'll probably need to get on fullthrottletech.com....while i'm not sure, i think it's a safe bet there's some issues with vista. make sure anything you're trying to do is run in compatibility mode.

H-okay.

I have no codes, and the car pulls fairly well for the stock turbo. The only noteable thing is that my car sounds like a Subaru. The only reason I mention it is because it sounds so far off of what a supra normally sounds like, and what mine used to sound like, it makes me thing there is something not right.

You may already know this, but keep in mind that the VF output signal is irrelevant until the car warms up.

Do you have a wideband to see if the car is actually running lean... hence why the ECU would be trying to add as much fuel as possible (4.4volts) ?

I'm not sure whether I knew that or not, but the car was warmed up. I don't try and do anything until the car is at full operating temp.

I do have a wideband, an LC1 with the XD16 Gauge. I will have to run through and check again to see what the readings where. I was just paying attention to what Luis was doing, and he was playing with the maft box. He may have been monitoring afr as well but I don't remember :)

We were monitoring your afr's I dont know about when you guys took it around the block though. You started off around 16.2ish at idle, we were able to bring it down to about 15 but couldnt get it to come down anymore for some reason.

Sorry i just now saw this thread otherwise i would have chimed in aswell

Throttle body issue, we can figure that out probably stay at 7 or go up 1 setting, We just have to go over the voltage scale now and adjust afr tracking settings after we go over his VE table.

As for his 4.4v. Yes we were at proper operating temperature. I had him idle for a while after it was warmed up and reading ~3.0 volts for Vf and it was all good and great until he blipped his throttle and it hit 4.4 and stuck there. Driving the car was fine, his Vf fluctuated as expected between 2-4.2 volts since the car is still fairly untuned. His AFR's were also "ok" for being untuned, nothing scary or unsafe, WOT was around 10.5. The main issue was that 4.4 we got at idle. What would keep the ecu from switching over from its warmup settings? I was able to adjust his idle AFR with the lo load settings but couldnt really affect his Vf signal no matter what i did with his Ve table.

Everything else was fixed, we updated his maftpro software to 4.8 and he has all the appropriate files for tunerpro in order to read the pro. Its just his connectivity with vista but i'm not sure if he's triggered compatability mode just yet.

This is a bit of a longer shot... but are you using an AC power adapter plugged into the power outlet on the car for your laptop?

Have a look at my post #40 and the threads after it on page 2 here: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38513&page=2

Both laptops are on battery power. I saw that thread a while back, when i had no idea wtf was going on w/ the maftpro. :3d_frown: As far as i know everything has a good steady source of power. Justin would have to chime in to confirm where he is getting his power for the o2 and pro.

sidenote* someone should update or redirect that link in dowards 1st post. that tutorial is a huge help for anyone who is learning.
