3.9 LSD fit in a 4.3 pumpkin?

I have an LSD from an 87 Turbo (3.9). Will it fit in a 4.30 pumpkin?

In other words, I have the LSD guts from an 87 MKIII Supra Turbo; will it fit into the container of say a non Turbo MKIII Supra (4.3)?

Why not just swap out the pumpkins? They are exactly the same on the outside. Or do you not have the LSD pumpkin?

Yes, it'll fit. But it does seem like more work than strictly speaking is necessary.

im supposed to be getting his 3.9 gear but they had to take it out of the pumpkin to put his new LSD in it. so we wanted to know if the pumpkins were the same so i could just put the 3.9 in my 4.3 pumpkin

If it's the LSD carrier that you're after, and ultimately a 4.30:1 LSD, than I don't see why it wouldn't work, but you must use the 4.30 ring gear. Do not attempt to use the 3.91 ring gear with the 4.30 pinion gear.

Everything is identical except the Ring and Pinion gears. (Assuming they're both LSD), if not, obviously the differential will be different, as well as the axle stubs.

All ring and pinions are factory matched sets. It would be faster to change the whole thing.

I can change the ring and pinion, set pinion depth, and set backlash. Do you know how to do that? Do you have a press for the bearing?
