Ok, so I finally have this together. It starts beautifully. It will rev nicely. It appears to be very rich. I have had to pull the front off to adjust the belt because it jumped timing by 10 degrees. It was even nicer after that, but it would idle very high, 2.5-3K rpms. I will be checking the TPS and getting some codes, as well as going out and buying a timing light in the next few minutes. any suggestions would be amazing. I am searching as well to gather any helpful hints on what to look for...

Where? I have plugged every vacuum port that I am not using, unless there is one that is supposed to be used lol

Ok, pulling the tps did not work. We cannot find an idle adjust screw. Can't get a reading on the timing since the engine wont drop below 2200 rpm's (if this does not matter, please correct me. I will continue trying tonight/tommorow). It does the same without the afm sensor plugged in. The throttle cable is not stuck, and I am having a hard time finding some way to adjust the 2jzge throttle body.
As an overview, the engine fires up and runs. I can rev it and it feels fairly smooth for being off timing a little, but it will not drop below 2200 rpm's. And baffling me as well is a random oil leak from a spot on the block. there is no crack. I'll try to get a better look at it.

After going over the notes and jotting down a few things, i came across the ISC connection. Problem solved. This thing is a blast to drive!

Still have no idea what the leak was about. There were a few coolant and oil leaks, but after letting the car idle for a bit and keeping an eye on temps and fluid levels, they all seemed to stop. It appears there was some spilled fluid as well as maybe some gasket that sort of slipped into place after sitting for 6 months. The only issue now is getting it to be less rich. I'm picking up new plugs tomorrow. Apparently less than a 0.044 gap is not good for WOT lol It's not fully firing on a cylinder or two, and it stumbles, but I believe it should be fine once I replace the plugs and re-check the timing. Then, we shall get video! And I also got 3 tickets today! Old Inspection, Improper Equipment (died right before I got pulled), and DMV suspended my license even after I got the insurance a few days before the deadline. The officers were cool though and they will drop everything as long as I get it taken care of or have proof that I am getting it taken care of.

That Sucks man. I drove mine around my neighborhood for a couple weeks until I could get it inspected. I was so paranoid the whole time I was driving it. But now that it's inspected I feel so much better about driving it around. :icon_bigg

I'm pretty sure I set my to 38 psi (somewhere in between 35 and 40) without the vacuum line hooked up.

What size injector and what are you using to tune?

Right now I'm using the stock injectors (440) and I'm not running anything to tune it at the moment. I'm about to hook up a maf-t system as soon as Forcefedsupra can help me get it hooked up and slightly tuned.
Do you have two ports on the valve covers? One is a regular port, but the other appears to be some sort of one way valve, I can't tell. The open one is hooked up to a vacuum line running to the intake and the other is open. I noticed when we tried blocking it (the one on the intake side) the rpm's would idle at about 2,500-3K. I have not had a chance to grab the proper vacuum line and will be doing that in the next couple of days. I have a feeling that is the source of all of my issues with the fuel and boost... I'm currently not driving it so it can sit for a few.

Edit: I turned mine up to about 38 during idle and it is now idling well. Still tends to miss every now and then so I am going to re-check the timing. It has jumped timing on me twice so far. 10 degrees the first time, and then we fixed it and it jumped by 5 degrees so I adjusted it so that it ran at 15 with the timing light. Unfortunately, I did not know the T1 and E1 had to be jumped so I will be fiddling with it tonight. I am hoping that's it, because if not I may need a new tensioner. Takes 15 minutes to replace it with the motor in though, so thank the designers for that. This is an extremely easy motor to work on!

Not to sure about the ports on top. Can you take a pic of them? If they are the ones I'm thinking of, they go to your PCV system. But I took a lot of my extra parts off to run an FFIM and standalone ECU. I do agree with you, It's much easier to work on the 2JZGE engine.
