Need more details. Either way you will have to compare the wiring diagrams from the donor car vs your car and ensure that the necessary wire inputs/outputs are properly connected (tach, power on, ground, dashboard temperature gauge, etc). Most of the wires wont need to be changed because they are connected directly between the motor and ECU.

when im mating the harness's does it matter if the 7m harness is ge, gte, auto or stick if im going to be swapping in a r154

Not really, just make sure the harness has all the same options as your car does (abs, pps, etc) as it makes it easier (and same year/year range of course).
