Okay,
So search is down on SF (what's new?).

I saw a thread on another forum where someone refreshed/replaced almost ALL of the connectors on his 2J harness. Does anyone know where the thread's at? I think they even listed the part numbers for all of the connectors.

Basically, I am getting ready to re-do an Aristo harness and I mainly want to replace the Fed up injector connectors, but others as well.

I already have the coilpack connectors, but thinking that I'd like to replace the connectors for the injectors, cam sensors, and other misc connectors at the top of the engine (where they are most brittle).

Thanks in advance...

call mark at vancouver toyota in vancouver washington he stocks them. I bought all injector and coilpack connectors and got them in like 2 days.

Also, coolant temp sensor plug is common to all 90s toyotas as are knock sensor plug.

Are you sure he has the Aristo 440 injector clips? All the other Toyota vendors need the part # and no one seems to have that # handy.

Thanks,
E

Aristo, soarer. Does not matter. The connectors are based to what they are connecting to. Toyota uses Nippon-Denso for thier injectors. Guess what that makes the connector? A nippon-Denso connector. Not to be confused with the EV1 Bosch style connector.

^^ Right, but even though I am ordering a new TT-auto harness for the wife's MKIV, we were planning on sticking with the Aristo injectors. Since the harness ships with connectors for the 550s, I understood that this would not work. Others have cut the connectors off of their old JDM harness and soldered into their new US one.

I'd like to just replace the connectors without cutting anything. Curt @ Elmhurst, along with the others, can get some of the different connectors, so long as they have the part numbers right off of them. If the connectors do not have the part #s on them, chances are that they do not come as separate pieces from an engine harness.

Is there another place where we can get them from? Like the electronics/connectors suppliers (AMP, etc)?

Thanks,
E

You mean like

http://www.connectorsfast.com/

or

http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/Injector_CONNECT.asp

I myself use these guys for all my connector needs (American or Imports).

http://www.casperselectronics.com/m...e=CEI&Product_Code=108146&Category_Code=INJEC

;)

edit: btw those are for injector only. The other parts like IAC and such. Those will need a bit more digging.

^^Wow. That is awesome!! Gonna order a set to try, but am still confused about the trouble the MKIV guys have when putting a US harness on a JDM TT engine.

Search isn't werkin' over there, so I have nothing to reference it to.

THANKS again tho...definitely helps!!!

Just so you know the 90s toyotas all had the same two injector connectors. There are the ones common to 1jz, 20v 4age, 7mge etc. Then there's the ones common to mkiv, ae101 4agze etc. the difference is in the little side nubs on the injectors. The ones with the nubs on the opposite side of the connector from the tab are common to mkiv. The ones with the nubs closer to the tab are common to mk3/camry/mr2/ blah blah blah.

Did you try calling mark?

IIRC they are quite simalar. The 1jz connectors work on both 440s and 550s (might have to remove a small amount of plastic to get the 550s in a 1jz connector)

Ordered some already... will see how they work and let you know. They come with new metal ends for the wires, but I've never crimped any of those on (should be interesting).

Thanks,
E

Bigzavs - I may be looking for odd pieces of an Aristo harness for some further experimentation. If you have a cut Aristo harness, I'll def take it off your hands.

you willneed a generic crimper for those unless you want to flip the bill for a dedicated crimper which will cost around $100+.

The generic crimpers are about $30 and work well.

Are you meaning the same type of electrical crimpers I would already have in the tool box? Or, are these more specialized for small connectors... meaning a visit to Frye's :naughty:

BTW you dont need to change the connectors. Use a sharp blade and cut the tabs off the injectors. The connector still clips on and doesn't come off. Ive been doing that for over 6 years to injectors with no issues ever.

^^Yeah but the conectors on my Aristo harness are brittle and just Fed up. Toyota doesn't sell 'em separately from the harness.
