'Tis confusion!
This is a very hard question I think. But I need help with this. I got my engine from the importer and the oil control valve for the variable valve timing had the connector broken off somehow. This engine I have is a 2JZ GTE Aristo engine with vvti. I went to the Toyota dealer to get a new oil control valve and what I ended up getting is the oil control valve that they could find in their computer. It is from a 98 Toyota Supra non turbo with vvti. I have both of the oil control valves with me now and I am noticing some differences. I took a bunch of pics. I am wondering, will I be able to use this new one? The part number seems to be slightly different. The GTE one from my Aristo engine says 15330-46010 on it. My new GE one says 15330-46011. Also, if you look at my pictures, I notice that the GTE oil control valve(on the right side in the pic) has a snap ring and it appears to have a larger hole in the end. Where as the GE on on the left in the picture has a smaller hole in the end and doesn't have a snap ring. I have questions about this. Will it work? Will my engine run different with the GE OCV then it would with the GTE OCV?
