where on earth are you getting a 3.93 lsd??!?!
Perhaps you meant 3.73?

i just asked him what it is, should hear back shortly, is the 3.91 a good gear to go with or are the newer ones better?

I like my 3.91 but if I could find a good condition 3.73 in the future I would switch to that. My car just revs too high when going 130 km/h on the highway.

well, he said it is a 3.93 LSD. i just bought it from him. i guess this means when on the highway, my rpm's will be a little higher than usual. course, i do plan on getting the 6spd later maybe in a couple years. so it should be alright.

so, i now realize the only way to change rod bearings is to have the motor out, or remove the crossmember. i destroyed the oil pan getting it out. but i have another i plan on using anyway.

i can't find which rods have spun the bearings. a few of them, i guess all of them really have a little side to side plaly.

intercooler and 1JZ flywheel bolts just came in.
intercooler is supossed to be 12x24x4 with 3" in/out
seems more like 12x24x2.5... but will still work great

To answer the question that no one gave an answer yet in regards to the LSD. The 3.1 would be for top speed.

In the MKIII, the 4.30 is acceleration, 3.73 is top speed, and 3.91 is between the two. All of them are very strong and have taken quite a beating, so you shouldn't have to worry about them grenading on you like Torsens do...

for your mounts >
Get the brackets for the 89 + models. Your car is 89 + model.
For the rubber mounts, I suggest getting the 98 MKIV ones as they are encased in metal and will not break or fall apart like the rubber mounts do. Cheapest at Campion Toyota.

thanks for confirming what brackets i need. one issue out of the way

i was trying to save my NA motor by changing the rod bearings, cause of the rod knock. i started it up, sounded perfect... no knock. as i was driving around, i started hearing it again, very faintly. not it's almost as bad as it was before i changed the bearings.

what else could cause this, i was thinking my oil pump may be bad,

when i took out all the bearings, they seemed to be fine. i don't know what's going on, once again, i can't wait to get rid of this crappy 7M

guys... and gals...

my supra just died. right before i got back on base it started making horrible sounds, metal on metal sounds. thn engine just shut off. i coast to the gate and the guy looks at my ID and gived me the ok to keep going,

well, i tell him i can't, engine won't start

when i try to start it, you can tell the starter is tryin real hard to crank the motor. but it won't, we tried a jump start, just made the tires squeal.

MOTOR IS DONE... D.. U... N...DONE

For your info the 3.91 diff will be horrible with the 6-speed V-160 gearbox. The MKIV has a 3.13 diff. I have modified mine to 3.56 and hoping it will work with the v-160.

i'm deciding on what exhuast i want to get. right now it's between the Blitz Nur and RSR GT2 that mvp has for sale. i've watched vids on youtube, but they are just sitting there revving it. i want to hear it driving and a couple flyby's. both are 80mm piping but the RSR is $80 cheaper, which i can use elsewhere

The RSR is kind of a bitch to put on (muffler is clamped on with 4 springs holding it there). I love my custom however, it has the perfect sound IMO.

i thought about making my own exhaust. it wold be a lot cheaper. summitracing has 3" 4ft pipes for $14. a few of those and a nice looking muffler, resonator and high flow cat would get'er done!

i came across this clutch kit. centerforce: http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/CFCDF500100.htm

You saw My RS-R the exhaust is much easier to install then psychotic makes it out to be.
Only two springs hold the muffler on. Never had a problem with it since I installed it over 1 year ago and through winter. Best sounding in My OPINION. I could only imagine it with a 2jz. Keep up the good work
