well, today driving around... what do i hear......ROD KNOCK...it couldn't be... oh but wait, i'm driving around with a 7M! no wonder.

So, it's time again for another 2jz swap. this time i know what to get and what to do. so it should be a little cheaper and go a lot smoother.

This time i'm going to be keeping it twin turbo. I'm going to be doing things a little different.

ASA AR2 18x8 wheels
Megan Track Series coilovers
Suspension Techniques front and rear Sway Bar kit
Slotted Performance Rotors
SS Brake lines
Jawsgear Steel Driveshaft
ACT Stage 3 CLutch Kit
Custom Made 4" Turbo-back Exhaust
Godspeed 12x24x3 Intercooler with 3" intercooler pipes
K&N FIPK

If i have a little extra money

SARD 800cc Fuel Injectors
Aeromotive AFPR
SARD FPR Adapter
XSPower T70 T4 Turbo
NGK Powerdex 02 Wideband
Apexi AFC NEO
T4 Tubular exhaust manifold

lol..Nice. You have a good platform too, and you are right, second time around is a lot cheaper and easier.

Question : When yo uhad your last 2JZ, did you have to wire in any resistors to get your gauges working? I don't think you neeed to but just cheking.

thanks man, this car is in very good condition, but so was my last one. i already have an engine picked out too... it's hard deciding on which one to get. but this guy have an awesome feedback rating.

i never had any trouble with the gauges. tach worked perfect and was accurate, matched what the AFC said.

I got my other engine from JDMtigerjapanese.com in Canada. Engine is in great shape , price was at least $700 cheaper and shipping to my house dirt cheap > And was within a week as well.

Good luck man. I love white cars .. I might post a picture of my other mKIII and a white one I sourced out to take pictures next too ..lol

who may they be if you don't mind?

BTW, phoenix6 has an R154 + bellhousing that he needed to get rid of like...this past weekend from his mom's house. Send him a PM. I'm sure he can work out a deal with you.

i just bought one from a guy on supraforums. all i need now is a 1jz bellhousing and 1 piece driveshaft

torontojdm :is who i bought the engine from. 2,300 shipped. the same price as the first one i bought earlier this year.

there was another one that was a little cheaper, but this one looked claner and had 100% feedback

do you guys know if i can use the speed sensor from the W58 on the R154. would i also need to get a new 2 piece cable.

anyone know anything at all about MKIV LSd in an MK3?
will the gears fit in the pumpkin?
there's one for sale right now for 160.... 3.1 gear ratio
that would give me a higher top speed right, or the other way around (quicker acceleration, lower top speed)

i got a question about the pressure plates.

would it be fine to use the stock pressure plate and just buy an upgraded clutch disc? i'm going to be running a stock 2jz, no upgrades. so it should be fine.

i don't like SPEC... i tried them, had a bad experience with them. how about ACT, i thinks driftmotion sells them

thanks guys...

hey, i didn't get an igniter with the motor, but i emaild the guy asking hi to ship me one, it said everything in the pic is what you get, the igniter was in the pic, but i don't have it.

so toyota wants $425 for a new one, is there a way i can use the 7M one?? i have a turbo and NA igniter, which i think are the same.

.....................................................................................................................................

ok, so i'm tryin to figure out how to make the 7M igniter work with the 2jz ecu. i think it could be done, a few signals from the 7M won't be used, that's what it looks like. i have 2 igniters, so i think i'm gonna need both of them to do this.

7M top: 2jz bottom

i've noticed that the turbos don't have the Ct20 on them, it just says toyota. my other set of turbos from my previous 2jz says Ct20

ok... so here are the two systems side by side

now it's easier for me to figure out how to put 2 7m igniters together to equal one 2jz igniter

sm_photo_missing.jpg

i know th firing pairs for the 7M are.
1-4, 2-6 , 3-5

but what is the firing order, or am i not thinking right? it feels like i'm missing something here.

what's the firing order of the 2JZ?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
edit*

i found the firing order of a 2jz

2jz and 7MGE are the same
1 - 5 - 3 - 6 - 2 - 4

but the 7MGTE fires in pairs. 1-4, 2-6, 3-5. i guess this is where the wasted spark comes into play.

so i have 2 igniters, the first one fires coils 1 - 5 - 3. the second one fires coils 6 - 2 - 4.

both ecu's have IGF in common. but the 2jz has IGT1 through IGT6. the 7M has IGT and IGDA and B

i assume IGT controls 1-4 (IG1), IGDA controls 2-6 (IG2), and IGDB controls 3-5 (IG3).

on the 2jz ecu:

IGT1> igniter 1> IGT> IG1> coil 1
IGT2> igniter 2> IGDA> IG2> coil 2
IGT3> igniter 1> IGDB> IG3> coil 3
IGT4> igniter 2> IGDB> IG3> coil 4
IGT5> igniter 1> IGDA> IG2> coil 5
IGT6> igniter 2> IGT> IG1> coil 6

so here's what i plan to do: hopefully you can understand all the mess!

Interesting find here. Its kinda of like wiring the injectors in with the resistors...It would be awesome if you coul actually get it to work. IOn the papaer it looks like it should.

i am a little cunfused. i have an 89... just so you know. one is round, the other is square, so what do i do?
