I had a thread about this before. I tried to install the line but it doesn't seem like anything is working. Its a stock 2J line trying to connect to a 1J Power steering pump. Does anyone have any pictures of how its installed? If not i'll just dish this idea and get a DM line.

pic of line - i know the top portion goes to the rack n the bottom one goes to the pump. But does it route like this installed?

Hello Tase,

That line works fine, it does cross over like in the picture. Use an insulated clamp and mount it under the oil pan like the original line that came off the clip.

Did Aaron and I sell you the complete (clip plus parts) kit?

From what i remember yea it was suppose to be everything from a clip.

I'm trying to figure out how the hell to install this thing or if someone can provide pics. The part that connects to the rack it has this lil metal thing that comes off of it. I guess to prevent it from turning when tightening it down but it gets in the way of 2 hard lines on the rack. I cant get pics right now tho =/

Would you mind if i called for any tech advise Jose?

soapra explained it just right - the section with the VSV port goes to the pump and then the hard line routes under the pan. the final piece bolts to the rack.

i used my old auto tranny mounts to bolt it under the pan with rubber in beteween and its held up just fine since my car has been running

Yes, the part that connects to the rack has a lil bar or something like a small metal pc on it that looks like it prevents it from turning, but it gets in the way of the line and doesn't seat down properly. I feel stupid lol

its 2 hardlines that come right off of the rack. I dont have pics right now ;( if you can find me a pic of the stock rack i can highlight them

did you remove the 7m's power steering line? it routes to the passengers side under the rack. there is another hard line but it goes to a barb fitting that goes to your power steering cooler

Yes, old line was removed, i think its the two lines for the cooler that get in the way.

and this is where it throws me off - the rack has one high pressure line and one low pressure line it shouldnt have any more or less as far as a i know... you bolt the high pressure line from the pump to the rack then the low pressure line from the rack to the cooler and the cooler to the resovoir which the resovoir goes right back to the pump. you are making it sound like there are still two lines connected? kind of why i wanted to see if you had a picture hehe to clear things up for me :)

Tase,

you can call anytime! Service after the sale is what we are all about! BTW, if your car was a late 89+ that tab would work, but on pre 89, you need to break it off. That will solve your problem and let the fitting sit flush.
